Some minor bugs

1) If you create a shelf with no materials it leaves the glowing blue outline. You can place items on the shelf even though it is 0% built. Then you can deconstruct the shelf and the items stay floating in the air.

2) Sometimes when you enter a Sea Truck with modules attached, it will put you right in the driver's seat and you can't leave the controls without exiting the vehicle. This makes it impossible to interact with anything inside the modules, like the aquarium or bed. It seems to fix itself after a few minutes but I can't tell if it has to do with exiting or entering the vehicle, opening and closing the game menu, having some specific tool in your hand or some combination of those.

3) You can go to sleep in a base with no air without consequences.

Can we have multiplayer coop? Pleeeeease...?
I mean, how hard can it be?!

Flayra wrote: »
(23rd August 2016) Our thoughts on this have become more clear now, as we've added more to the game and see how much work we still have to do on the game.

We are NOT going to be adding multiplayer of any kind to Subnautica. We would have to start over from scratch and it would take us years of work to do it.

I know that's not what you guys want to hear but we have our hands FULL with the basic v1.0 version of Subnautica.

(September 2015) Adding Co-Op or multiplayer is not simple, at all. It would require months of work. We want it to happen, but it would mean we basically stop working on the game right now, and do co-op for months. Currently we'd much rather make a great game first, then see if it's feasible for co-op to happen. That being said, most of us on the team want it to happen. We just can't promise it right now.
Flayra wrote: »
(26th May 2016) We would love to add co-op gameplay someday, but it will have to be a new game. It's waaaay too much work to simply "add" to Subnautica. We might make a standalone game focused on co-op (like "Subnautica Together") or maybe we'll make a sequel.

But it's clear that Co-op is something you guys would love and we'd love it too. Imagine piloting your Cyclops with a few people: one at the helm, another repairing/building machinery, another managing fuel and energy systems and another off on small missions in the Seamoth, reporting what they're finding?

I'm not sure how everything works/where things are and the game doesn't tell me anything. Where can I find out?
A huge part of the joy of Subnautica is exploring working things out for yourself, but if you're stuck you can always refer to the Subnautica Wiki page and there's a map here.

Will subnautica be coming to the PS4?
Obraxis wrote: »
(2nd June 2016) There is a good chance of it, though we're not working on it right now. However, we're exploring the possibility.

(26th May 2016) We would love to bring Subnautica to the PS4. It's an awesome system and Sony seems to treat developers well.
However, they don't have "preview" program. So we can't ship it there until we hit v1.0.

Any chance of getting 60fps?
Obraxis wrote: »
(27th May 2016) Highly unlikely to hit 60fps on XboxOne, just not technically possible while keeping the game at the visual level we want.

The next update will have some improvements that should be noticeable in some places, but optimizations are not a quick-fix. They are complicated, often take a while and tend to go in towards the end of development so the game and gameplay itself can be a focus. We'll do the best we can as we develop the game to keep improving.

What are you guys working on at the moment?
Flayra wrote: »
(28th May 2016) We are working hard on performance as well. Graphics aren't the issue at the moment, it's mostly our streaming system, so we think we can make some noticeable improvements there. Probably not for the first patch, but in the ones after that (we want to get our currently done work on the PC in your hands as soon as possible).
For a detailed and up to date view of everything that's being worked on right now, along with an impressive To Do List, take a look at the Subnautica Development Blog.

The Debug Console
To get around may bugs, especially those that cause items to disappear or not spawn at all (like the blueprint bug) you can use the Debug Console in game to spawn items and perform other actions. To access it, SIMULTANEOUSLY press BR+LB+A on your controller, then enter one of the commands listed here or from this list of spawnable items. This is not a cheat as such and has been recommended by the Developers as a tool to get around bugs, although overuse may diminish your enjoyment of Subnautica.
If you are having any other bug related issues, please post them to the Subnautica Playtesting Blog. Alliteratively, please read @EVILONE15 's pinned and regularly updated Bugs On Xbox thread and post a comment there if your bug that is not mentioned.

Am I experiencing a bug?

Been using the beta for a long time and when the 1.0 release came out I didn't re-install.

Started a fresh new game and seeing the following three issues;

1) Sometimes the oxygen plants don't have an air bubble, and on my first re-started game all the oxygen plants in the mining/dig site did not have air bubbles. I restarted a new game again and this solved this problem mostly. But a small number of the oxygen planets still don't have the air bubble. Most do though.

2) The shipwrecks all appear to be open and all boxes/containers are empty. So none of the doors you normally need to cut through is closed, they are all already open when I visit for the first time.

3) I seem to be missing quite a few items from the game. Fragments of parts etc. As an example, none of the metal scraps that normally litter the shipwrecks has spawned. I haven't found any. Also stuff that gives you plans is much harder to find as well.

I've deleted the game in full plus any of my saves and I'll re-install from scratch.

Has anyone also experienced anything like what I'm describing?

Regards

So I bought this game about 3 months ago. It worked fine and crashed once and from there, it hasn't worked since. So I thought that's okay I know they're working on a fix for bugs on xbox one so I'll just come back. Today I re-downloaded the game and when I get to title screen where it says "press menu" I press start and it gets stuck on "loading..." forever. I reinstalled it again to make sure nothing was corrupt but IT STILL DOESN'T FU/CKING WORK!!

Below Zero PS4 - starting map won't load, save froze, game froze.

Got as far as getting the seaglide and over to the first cache and some exploring. Went as far as the first 'green tinted' kelp area, turned around, and the map/terrain simply vanished, with my drop-pod 'hovering' in open space. Tried saving since I'd made my seaglide after my last save, and the save function just froze. I can't even get to the main game menu, and finally just had to shut it all down from my PS4 menu.

That's even worse than the map loading glitch on the first one, as at least I could save/didn't crash the game entirely.

Subnautica Below Zero crashing almost immediately

This is the same issue I had with Subnautica before using AMD Radeon drivers: game crashes randomly resulting in black screens and no way to recover without a power cycle. SBZ seems to be worse than the original, crashing within seconds of starting the game. Just as before, audio continues playing for a short while but that's all.

Tried -force-d3d9 in Steam launch settings. Not sure if this switch still works but if so it had no effect. Game still crashes seconds after starting.

Tried -force-opengl in Steam launch settings. Got to play almost a full minute before it crashed when I jumped in the water.

There is no output log in the SubnauticaZero_Data directory. I'm not posting another DXDiag dump as nothing changed since the prior one.

System summary:
AMD 3800X CPU
16GB RAM
Radeon RX580 GPU
Win10x64

Radeon drivers 20.10.1 (latest available)
Windows fully patched
Nothing overclocked

For the record, I was able to play and complete the original Subnautica only by using the -force-opengl switch. Anything else was constant crashes. That doesn't seem to work with SBZ though.

How many people were on the aurora

$

I'd just like to ask how many people are on the aurora because for such a large ship you'd assume there would be a large crew but assuming the area of were the lifepods were launched is around the area of the map maybe 2 times that you don't seem to find a large amount of lifepods. You may argue that you could fit a large amount of people in one but the thing is you can't you see there is also only one seat per lifepod and anyone not in a seat would surely be killed. So here's the thing this ship is a habitation ship and 20 people aren't going to make the planet habitable so where is the rest of the crew.

(i dont really care that much BTW so don't hate and tell me it's just a game, I just have nothing to do right now)

PS4 version unplayable

Bought the game somewhere last week.
Lost 4 hours of progress because the game refuses to save. My current game is now "stuck" as in it never will save again, sometimes i get the hash error, sometimes i dont get the hash error, but it even then it wont save. Ive gotten to "Tier 2" and finished the cyclops sub marine and water purifier, it seemed to have happened after that. This means i have to start all over (+30 hours) which i wont do, or never play another game on my PS4 until im done with Subnautica which i also wont do. Ive been reading online this problem has existed for more then a year! It seems support for consoles has been completly dropped.
After supporting NS2 back in the day this is a kick in the balls. I can live with the low framerates and pop-ins, clipping bugs, etc. The PS4 is ancient, those are no problem for me, but not being able to save is a death sentence for the game.

Ill try to get a refund bc its a non working product but bc of the hours played i probably wont get it.

PS5 game crashing at glacial bases

$

At this point I've invested over 20 hours into the game and have experienced few glitches but tons of crashes.

For the most part, the crashes aren't random. The three consistent but minor ones for example are if I'm at the lilypad biome and I try to go to the east side of delta base, the game will crash. Or if I'm at the lilypad biome and I try to go towards the life pod through the purple vents, the game will crash (but doing the opposite works fine, oddly enough). The last being if I'm at the life pod and try to go north along the glacial wall, the game will crash. These aren't game breaking and I have found routes to avoid them, but it's annoying.

But thats not the worst of it. The worst has to due with the alterra glacial bases, specifically phi robotics and outpost zero. You can't go anywhere near these bases without the game crashing. You can't go through the portal to try and get into phi robotics either. This completely ruins the game and the experience. You miss out on a bunch of story lore, including the leviathan and Sam's story, and a bunch of blueprints as well, such as the snow fox and snow suit.

It makes me believe that the devs didn't bother play testing their own game on the PS5 prior to release, because many other ps5 players are experiencing the same issue and if the devs actually play tested it, it wouldn't take them much to discover how broken it is.

And the most disappointing thing out of all of this is, that despite how annoying it is to miss out on the lore, it surprisingly doesn't matter. Without spoiling too much, I was able to use the prawn suit to carefully jump around and avoid getting to close to outpost zero, and was able to get to the final area and beat the game, meaning that phi robotics, the leviathan, and Sam's story had no bearing on the game and isn't even a requirement to beat it. I know it's not big related, and it's a completely different conversation but its just disappointing.

Prawn suit keeps getting stuck in ground

I'm playing the base game of Subnautica on Xbox Series X.

I have encountered a major bug. Basically when using the prawn suit in any alien facility it keeps getting stuck on the ground. I have to keep using the grapple to drag myself free.

I've played through the game multiple times on the older Xbox consoles and never had this problem . I think it was added in the May update.

I tried loading the game up on my Xbox One X and it was happening in that too so not an issue with the Series X. Must be the May update. I'm sure it's related to the fix in the patch notes to stop it falling through floors.

Does anyone know of a workaround to stop this bug happening?

It's really effecting my enjoyment of the game.

Subnautica Xbox One and Series SX save incompatibility

$

So I saw this discussion already on another thread regarding the PS4 and 5 versions of the game so I thought I’d try and get a similar discussion going in regards to the Xbox version of the game.

My experience is that the two games are different change sets and the saves are incompatible from one generation to the other. This isn’t an issue with other games that have gotten Series SX updates so I am hoping that this is something that will be addressed. However I can’t seem to find any discussion of this phenomenon or any acknowledgement that it is a big or that anything is being done about this.

As well, since this is an older game I am thinking most people experiencing this issue from a point of view not being able to play their old saves on the new update, but for me it’s a different problem. I have my old Xbox One X up in my bedroom whereas the new Series X is in the living room. I often finish up playing and move downstairs and move upstairs, so if I can’t play the same save on both systems I think it will be a fairly large detriment to me really getting into this game.
