"Driller" Sub idea (No hate please

I was thinking, and this'll be a short post, but I was curious if anyone thought this would be a good idea:
A medium sized sub, with a drill on it to drill ice. The ice can be "processed" into minerals, with rarer minerals having a lower chance of being the end product.
Call it "The narwhal" cause arctic and drill

Vehicle Oxygen

This seems quite weird to me. Every time your Cyclops, P.R.A.W.N Suit, Seamoth what have you runs out of energy in it’s power cells the player instantly starts using their own on person oxygen supply to keep breathing instead of breathing the open air that would be still in the vehicle cabin even if the air scrubbers were offline there still would be enough air to last for like 1 minute in a Seamoth or probably like 15 in a Cyclops if there was already a fire happening. In real life submariners in WWII would wait in their subs in the event that the crippled sub sunk to the bottom of the seabed and await rescue but depending on the size of their submarines would give the appropriate amount of air for how long they would last. I hope the devs add this into the game as a mechanic of some sort to increase immersion. What are your thoughts comment below to tell me what you think!

(still) Unable to deconstruct part of base/ cant place ladder

The very same bug/ error happened to me a few months ago whe i got ~10 hours done and now its happened to me again!

I was building my base (finally) and wanted to have some pipes up to the surface where i would have a multipupose room connected. Once i had done that (pipe didnt look like it was connected) i went inside my base to put a ladder in so i could get up to the room, but the ladder wouldnt place and then the sihoulette wouldnt go away even when i tried to swap tools (happened 3 times) - i was forced to save the game (hadnt in a while) which then let me swap tools again. Still not placed ladder. Thinking ive done something wrong i went to deconstruct the multipurpose room on the surface, ontop of a platform, but it said i had to "finish deconstructing" other connected parts. BUT I COULDNT. The platform underneath the room NO. The seemingly unconnected pipes NO. The corridor at the bottom NO.

I now i have an a large area of base that i cant use and is an eye sore and is exactly where i wanted my base to go with lovely view and strategic importance.

Can someone please help me, ive tried and researched alot to no avail. Im thinking theres like something invisible but ive been around and cant find anything. At this stage i just want to remove it but tht isnt even a commend to delete objects.

- I posted on the steam subnautica forums but have had no response and I also sent off a in-game bug report with a picture of the issue

-edit: I have since started a new game and just not tried to build a connector directly into a multipurpose room and it seems to be fine, except for the odd lag or crash tht is now happening when traveling fast :dizzy:

Interactive Subnautica Map - subnauticamap.io

Hey, we're two friends working on an interactive map for Subnautica at https://subnauticamap.io. We posted this on Reddit two weeks ago and the response and feedback has been great so far. I figured that I'd post about it here as well since I'm guessing that some of you would be interested to hear about it too.

We're actively working on adding new features based on your feedback, we're currently working on adding more layers to the map to display all the caves and islands. That has been a popular request by our users, and we hope to have it out within a week or two.

Please let us know what you think, we are always open to more feedback!

Thank you for this truly wonderful game. I just finished my first non-early access playthrough, and I gotta say, it’s easily one of the best videogames I have ever played.
My money was definitely well spent (compared to a few other games with the same price) , and I loved watching the game develop (I bought it around when the H.2.0 update came out)

All in all, I’d give this game a 10/10 would play again. Can’t wait for the DLC!

Hi all

As many of you know, we hd a public HipChat room where you can chat with devs. Unfortunately you couldn't see text history, so if you just missed some info, you'd never see it.

We're trying out a new App called 'Discord' that gives us text and voice chat!

Come join our Playtesters, some Devs and other Subnautica community members using this invite:

https://discord.gg/0TYSaqpNv6wffpB1

Then enter your desired Online Nick here:

Which creature do you hate encountering?

So as the title says, Which creature do you struggle the most with and therefore hate encountering because you are in for a fight.

So for me it would be

3 Crab Squids
2 Lava Lizards
1 Warpers

3 Crab squids are annoying because unless you have prepared fully before diving they are quite the threat. I am talking about not having your prawn suit yet and are relying on your seamoth.

2 lava Lizards are my biggest cause of having to flee they do a lot of damage to the prawn suit especially since there are normally more than 3/4 of them in one area. A combo of warpers and lava lizards is the worst for me.

1 I hate warpers especially as you get deeper and they are more common/in swarms. They get so annoying, especially when you are wanting to collect resources as they tend to hog the beds and walls of areas where you are likely to want to collect items. They are normally the main reason for me having to be cautious early and also late game, where most other creatures are easy to avoid.

The Leviathan creatures are only really bad the first few times you encounter them. Well that is the case for me, don't really struggle with them. I think if there were more of them they would be a bigger threat but having only a small number of sea dragon and ghost leviathans on the map. It's easier to prepare for them. Think reapers can be a bit harder due to being more numerous, but they still aren't that bad.

Computer voices - unimmersive?

Back in the 1970s and 1980s, we had computer voices somewhat on par with some of the automated messages in Subnautica. Given the era in which the game is situated, do you find it as unimmersive as I do that there are such archaic sounding "computer generated" voices?

Falling through Cyclops......

This bug has been happening back as far as May 2015 ( https://steamcommunity.com/app/264710/discussions/0/620713633861994551/ ) and it is continuing to happen still.

Can we please get a fix for this???

The cyclops is parked with engine off and the player slightly floats, then suddenly falls through the sub to around 150' below the sub, a splash is heard and you can swim again.
Or you just fall to the ocean floor taking a bunch of damage.

I am currently 700' below sea level in a deep cave.
I can't access storage lockers, change power cells, fabricate, eat, ect, ect... without falling.
I'm trapped in the sub and I can't even power it up because I just keep falling over and over.

Doesn't matter if I save, exit, reload, re-install, verify game files, remove all mods, add more mods, have PRAWN docked or undocked, power on or off, drop all inventory... nothing changes.
Soon as I stand still for a few seconds I fall again.
8 times in 5 minutes I've fallen through the ship, swam back, went back to my storage locker, dropped 2 items in an attempt to empty my inventory... and then I'm falling again.

Player sliding in Cyclops

Watch closely, you can see the player is drifting: (around 12:45 mark, watch the background with PDA open) It eventually gets bad enough the player reloads, which fixes it, but then the problem returns. It was after docking a PRAWN, not sure it that's relevant.

Personal Teleporting

$

Problem: Quickly getting from A to B to grab that 1 resource needed to complete recipe. And beacons are useless mostly.
Solution: Personal teleporters, only to PDA markers.
Reasoning: Warpers warp using Highly advanced technology. We have highly advance technology. Possibly compatible?
Ability obtainment: After scanning Warper parts (DRF), PDA takes 3 in game days to process a formula/ blueprint. But it takes tons of power.
Resource gathering: Late game items, advanced materials and tech, rare items.
Usage: 4x4 inventory size device that teleports the player to any marker/beacon within 500m. Takes a whole power cell to do this once. (Ion power cells are optimum, distance subject to change).
