So... It's been over two weeks since the PC version of the Silent Running update was released. Where's the Xbox version?

[BUG] Battery chargers... aren't
Experimental build #50065 (which in itself is odd, given that 50061 is the last changeset showing on the changes and checkins page)
Battery chargers do not charge batteries, although they do drain base power.
Batteries stay at 0% but if you use solar power only, you can see at night that base power slowly drains.

Further improve the ping manager? a simple grouping system perhaps?
Hi,
im a new player just reached the end of the story line, i know the ping manager was greatly improved before, but with around 30 beacons and can't arrange them into groups, it's bit tedious... (im bad at navigating through darkness with just compass)
For example, i want to go to the lost river, i'd had to turn on about 7 beacons to let me have a good idea where everything is, but for some reason (probably because i didn't put them down in 1 go) they aren't grouped together, so i had to scroll through all the beacons to find the 7 LR beacons... (yes i did lable them properly, and the color doesn't really help and looks messy)
Anyway im sure the devs use photoshop, it would be great if they can implement similar to the layer groups:
=============================
> [<>] LavaZone Beacons
-..... [<>] Entrance
-..... [<>] Waypoint 1
-..... [<>] waypoint 2 etc...
> [<>] Lost River Beacons
-..... [<>] Entrance
-..... [<>] Waypoint 1
-..... [<>] waypoint 2 etc...
> [<>] Bases
-..... [<>] Home base
-..... [<>] island base etc...
=============================

The text version looks bad but im sure everyone knows what i mean![:p :p]()
Thanks!

New capabilities for Power Cell Charger and Battery Charger
I had these ideas back in 2016 as i began with SN. The first new feature is a option for fast charging, the second is that a charger acts as power bank.
So there would be 3 modes for the chargers:
REGULAR
The standard mode for the charger. It charges the Power Cell/Battery slowly with a small power consumption.
FAST CHARGE
It charges with a fast mode like the Moonpool. Suited for strong power grids with enough capacity.
POWER BANK
In this mode the Charger acts as another power source, like a generator. Ideally for temporary or rarely used small bases.
Edit: for this mode the color of the charge bars should be different, maybe blue (see pic 3).
Benefits
This would give more flexibility to the chargers and to us players and it would give the PCC more relevance.

Let me show some pics as examples. You can click on this pics for full size.

- I know that lot of players use the Moonpool as fast charger, me too. And there exists also some opinions that the PCC is useless, if you have a Moonpool. But I don't like to use the Moonpool as fast charger for Power Cells. To charge Power Cells is the job of the Power Cell Charger.
- It can be useful to have the Power Bank feature also for the Battery Charger, especially at the point we have the Ion tech.

Game Breaking Signals Bug
Received a signal; crew needs assistance with surviving radiation. Found that signal, but there was no signal 'item' to remove from my Inventory; then the Comm. went off and I tried to play the message but it wouldn't play. In other words, no more 'signals'; I cannot progress the Story!

POWER PROBLEMS, FIXED AND IN NEED OF FIXING
As of Experimental Build #50211:
- Battery chargers once again work just fine.
- Power cell chargers, ditto.
- Non-solar-panel power sources, ditto.
Those are the things that work. The things that don't are:
- The Moonpool still does not recharge docked vechicles, although it drains power.
- [EDIT:] The Cyclops does not recharge docked vehicles or drain power.
- Adding a second water filtration machine will drain a base with 4,000 power (3K from solar, 1K from thermal plants on a lava geyser) dry during the middle of the day, with water getting to 39% complete and salt 78%.
- In the above scenario, once night falls and the solar panels cannot be recharged, the thermal plants' power recharge rate takes over and the lights can stay on (just don't try to fabricate anything).
- A single filtration machine doesn't even come close to draining even half that much power during the day. A sole one drains approximately 170 power before it gets to 39% complete on water and 78% complete on salt. Adding a second one seems to induce some sort of extremely high multiplicative effect.

Move it warper
The warper is between me and exploring further down the cave. I do not want to abandon my search. I cannot go around, the tunnel is too small really. Any alternate path would only be similar with danger. I proceed despite the danger. The reinforced dive suit is no help. I die and loose a PRAWN in the icy depths. Next time I will try going out into the freezing water and using a repulsor.
I need to learn/experience more about survival at 900m below using only a dive suit and seaglide. I think it starves and dehydrates fast but that's it.
I wonder how many floaters it would take to float a PRAWN that's 900m deep. If I have to use a recovery vehicle that might be helpful. Depth is probably not a floater factor though.
Any recovery option ideas? Just for the fun of doing a recovery that is.
Thanks in advance.

Subnautica Newbie Tips
- Holding objects while swimming slows you down.
- There's a storage compartment in the lifepod.
- Food goes off rather quickly - cure it with salt to preserve it if you're not going to eat it soon.
- O2 is consumed at 1.5x under 100m, and 2x under 200m. Build a rebreather to counteract this, although you can't equip both the rebreather and the radiation helmet - swap them out until you fix the radiation problem.
- Blueprints unlock as you discover new things by cutting samples, picking them up, or scanning them.
- Disinfected (chlorinated) water has more H2O than Filtered (Bladderfish) water. To make it, you need salt and common coral, which you can cut out of the big coral tubes (not the table coral you use for computer chips).
- Repair the Communications Relay, and follow any quests you get from there (equip the different signals and check them out) -- you'll find blueprints, wrecks, and useful areas in, around, and under (cave systems) signals. Just gotta look around, there's always more to it than what meets the eye.
- The scanner unlocks encyclopedia entries as well as blueprints. The information is not all useless; it pays to take a glance and think if there's anything you can gain from the knowledge (such as, you can use Acid Mushrooms for batteries and Brain Coral for an O2 source)
- Wrecks are explorable, you just have to find the entrance. There will be one. Every time. Trust me. (Try another door of the other one is locked).
- Most aggresive lifeforms will back off if you give them a solid hit with a knife.
- Stalkers like metal. When they pick it up or drop it, sometimes they drop teeth. If you scan them, you'll learn other interesting things as well (try equipping a Peeper and feeding them, but bring extra Peepers).
- Bases need power to provide O2. Pipes are to take O2 from an O2 source (a powered base with a base attached air pump or a surface air pump) down to an area you want to explore. Most just wait to make a vehicle.
- Laser cutters only open normal doors (not locked doors or regular doors - you can tell on mouseover). Repair tools repair control mechanisms for other doors. Still others can simly be opened by hand.
- Plants can be planted in interior or exterior growbeds (exterior can be above or below water). Rotten plants work just fine for growing new plants. Some plants need to be hit with a knife for seeds (Marblemelon, Bulbo Tree) while others can just be planted (Chinese Potato, Lantern Tree)
- You must plant the Blood Oil or CreepVine Seed to get a fully formed Bloodvine or Creepvine plant. If you plant samples, they'll grow, but they won't produce seeds.
- To fully explore the Aurora, you'll need a laser cutter and repair tool. A Propulsion Cannon would be handy, but not necessary. Need diamond? Keep following those Comm Relay quests..
- Large resource deposits can only be mined by a PRAWN suit drill arm.
- Vehicles are built in the Mobile Vehicle Bay. MVBs are deployed to the surface. They can be picked up by climbing on board and looking down at them.
- You need an ITEM Modification Station to upgrade equipment (to include upgrade MK2/MK3 modules for vehicles). You need the VEHICLE Modification Station to create the original/MK1 upgrade modules. The Vehicle Modification Station can only be built in the moonpool.
- You can build quite a few base pieces (using the Habitat Builder) in the Cyclops.
- You can use the Alien Containment Unit (previously known as the Large Aquarium) to hatch eggs, breed fish if you have 2 or more of the same type, and plant underwater plants in the included planter (which you can also do in an exterior growbed built underwater). ACUs have a population limit of 10 per unit, and they stack (must first stack MultiPurpose Rooms to hold them).
- Pick up the upgrade modules found in the consoles in the Aurora. Also, use your repair tool in the Drive Room. There's a couple of different areas you can get to from the PRAWN bay - one underneath, one above (Living Quarters)

Changes in the Voice of the Deep that need changing.
First, I really like the new ping feature. But can we please make it more opaque like it was before? Its too transparent and the green and blue colors are hard to see. Plus add some more colors. The red and orange are too similar and the yellow is just ugly.
Second, please! please! please!!! can we get the Cyclops lockers slots back to how they were? Meaning 2x6. Before I was able to fit the 3 weapons in one locker, the radiation suit set in another and then the extra equipment that I didn't use but might in yet another one. Now? I can only fit 2 2x2 items and have 4 empty slots. They just became completely useless IMO.

So, the game is almost complete but there is a thing that is annoying me...

I've built and fueled a bioreactor, as well as placed thermal generators right on the edge of an active lava geyser, and they do not generate additional power for the base at all. (In the case of the bioreactor, max energy goes up by 500 but the base will not reach max.)

Bigger Submarine Concept - My own 3D model
Hello everyone!
A bit of introduction here : I'm new on the forums but not on the game. Subnautica is one of my favorite game and although i didn't spend too much time on it, i had a super experience playing it! What I enjoyed the most is the exploration thanks to the wonderful places there are, and also the submarines, especially the Cyclops. And for once, a developer team has enough talent to make the vehicle completely playable. And not just making the exterior and the cockpit.
I'm currently a student for game design, and I started to make my own 3D models. Moreover i saw the concept arts for other submarines and particularly the bigger one which looks just fantastic! I know I'm really a beginner in modelling and texturing, but I want to give it a try. Maybe you could give some criticism and tips for this challenge!![ ]()
Thank you in advance and hope you will like it!![ ]()
(I will do updates)
EDIT!! : Instead of scrolling down to see the most recent update of the 3D Model, I'm gonna actually put an image of the last one, down below at the end of this post![:) :)]()
(You can still see all the steps, by watching every updates i made in that discussion)
So here is the original 2D concept art :

On the first picture you can see the mesh, which is a bit weird, but again, i'm only a beginner. Future pictures will be more interesting!

Crashing launching or playing Subnautica? Follow these steps to make a good crash support post!
Hey guys!
Subnautica is currently in Early Access and as such you may from time to time encounter bugs and in the worst case, crashes. If you have issues with stability of Subnautica, please post your issues with as much detail as possible (video/screenshots/descriptions), followed by the following requested information:
Example Topic Title:
[Crash] Open my Locker and Crash! [Version Number]
1) Please run dxdiag.exe (search windows for it) on your systems and hit the button 'save all information' in the bottom right. Save this file for later.
![LHmLsSd.png]()
2) Navigate to your Subnautica Folder in Steam (should be steamapps\common\Subnautica)
3) Open the Subnautica_Data folder and grab a copy of 'output_log.txt'

Voice of the Emperor
Hello, Poccer77 here.
I have to say, I'm a huge fan of the Emperor concept, that you finally meet a creature you can actively interact with, plus it is one of if not the biggest creature in the ocean.
I have one problem with the Emperor tho: the voice.
The voice sounds pretty cool, but it doesn't sound like its edited enough, if you know what I mean. In my opinion, the voice is too human for such a non-human creature, it's too clear and edged, it should be a little more dull and blurry. That would be a suggestion for an ingame improvement from me, otherwise the game is really awesome, especially for 20 euros. Good job developers!

Ideas to improve the game
I know you guys have your hands full with the silent running update, but these are things I think could improve the game. 1. Diminish the rate you need to get food or water: A lot of time I spend in this game is spent on gathering food or water. I think more fish that can create water would be nice, but adding a food replicator (Dispenses food without needing to collect it) would go a long way to improving the game. 2. More islands: I love the islands in this game, but as far as I can tell they are very few in number. I would love to see more islands in the future possibly even more man made structures. 3. Being able to upgrade the seamoth in the cyclops: I read that you need to craft the vehicle upgrade station inside the moon bay because you need to dock. Why not just give the cyclops the ability to upgrade the seamoth? Also auto-repair for the seamoth would be nice in the cyclops. 4. A season pass: I would like to see content packs that we could look forward to. Updates could include new modes such as undead mode or a prequel mode where you can discover the story of those who lived on the planet before you, new biomes, exclusive weapons, new fish and new crafting items. 6. more upgrade slots and more upgrades. I appreciate you guys taking the time reading this.
