(NS2 Stats) Average Tech Timings - Discuss

In the spoiler below I have included a large table that shows average tech timings. Averages are a statistic that are sometimes as misleading as it is useful. This table will not tell you what the most common build order is. It does not tell you the frequency of the tech. It most certainly does not tell you the optimal tech path. It only tells you the average time something was completed. For the more technical oriented, the early and late timings are the first and third quartile timings. The data comes from NS2+. You may notice some odd things in the table. According to the data, prototype labs are built on average before the advanced armory is researched.I could speculate why this is but I do not want to. Despite the imperfection of this table, I decided this was interesting enough to share. Or maybe I am just bored and want to see how these forums respond to this data.

I have latest build, got on steam in the end of Dec.
Survivial mode
Base/structures:
I haven't found terraformer yet so basically I build base on a "raw cliff".
-plants/bubbles coming from the bottom/schools of fish (uncapturable ones) are drawn through structures of base
https://fotki.yandex.ru/next/users/i66u/album/311697/view/1426537
-base's equipment could be seen from the bridge of cyclops at ANY distance
-unfinished structures disappear after save/load (lost some precious resources to that)
-power transmitters work principles are unclear: sometimes they have to be in direct optical vision of each other sometimes they work through obstacles (for example you can build a chain over the stone then remove middle link and viola)
-solar panel works at 200m. And in the shadow of cyclops. By means of evil magic it seems
-foundations could be built in midwater and will have no columns to reach the bottom still increasing hull integrity
-moonpool sometimes built with one or two support pillars resting on water
-I can build foundation under moonpool completely blocking the dock, however if I have seamoth docked before foundation was built it will swim through
-base attached air pumps aren't drawn.
-base attached air pump can be built on pure foundation with power connected. Where it gets air?
-bioreactor sometimes doesn't activate regardless of intake and lack of power on base. Had to rebuild it with different angle or in different room.
-how can I damage the base? It seems like it made not from titanium but pure unobtanium. I built 8 glass tubes with observatory at end with overall hull integrity around 10 (I love those foundations) and tried to ram it with cyclops - not even a scratch.
-I can construct hatch at 45 degrees walls in multipurpose room but can't attach I-shape in the same place. Unfair.

Cyclops:
-get the seamoth close enough to cyclops for it opens the dock but do not dock. Get into cyclops. You can see the bottom from the opened hatch without consequences.
-sometimes, when I enter cyclops and try to open wall lockers the inventory is drawn behind the walls of submarine making it invisible. However it is accessible and I can manage it by pointing on empty space and reading descriptions. To fix it I have to dock/undock in seamoth.

Gameplay
-on floating isle with observatories I can run down from the peak without any harm.
-several times I've encountered wrecks drawn multiple times in exact same place. I had to repair door opening mechanism triple times, open the same door 3 times, cut trough doors three times and it has tripled loot in it.
-twice I've seen the wreck completely disappear leaving all of it's stuff floating in water or slowly descending on bottom.
-first time played had EP6 and EP17 not spawned. After first cache clear they appeared where they should be.

Borealis Rising - A Subnautica Story, V2.0.
By: Bugzapper (Lee Perkins).

CHAPTER ONE

Unlike a certain Mr. Samuel L. Clemens, the reports of my death are entirely accurate.

Alexander Fergus Selkirk lived to the ripe old age of 115 years, and died three times in the process. We're not talking about any 'dying on the operating table'- type deaths, either. The first time, I blundered into the path of a hungry Stalker and paid the price for my singular lack of caution. All things considered, I got off extremely lightly. Having a working Valkyrie Field in the Lifepod gave me a second chance, and I dare say that I learned a valuable lesson from that experience.

Considering that this planet is essentially a heaving mass of aquatic life forms with a marked taste for human flesh, it would serve you well to keep your wits about you. If you've accessed my earlier log entries, you'll probably be aware of the most prevalent threats that planet 4546B (a.k.a 'Alpha Hydrae IV' or 'Manannán') has to offer. I have done my best to provide a broad assessment of each alien species encountered so far, including their general appearance, typical behaviour patterns and perceived threat levels. Please be advised that this information is by no means complete and highly subject to revision, since this planet has entered a state of accelerated evolution. It is entirely possible that new life forms are appearing even as this account is being written.

Yes, you did read that last sentence correctly.

My second death was a rather more unpleasant surprise. Approximately eight months after Aurora crashed on this planet, a Torgaljin Corporation commercial frigate arrived and commenced highly secretive operations near one of my undersea bases. Since I had already launched a deep-space distress beacon by that time and the frigate De Ruyter had made no obvious attempts to contact me, I became immediately suspicious of their intentions. A few days later, a Torgaljin security team entered my base and I was murdered by their leader, Invigilator Galen Tomar. After being restored to life by the Valkyrie Field, I commenced a retaliatory action that culminated in the destruction of De Ruyter and the loss of its crew. This particular outcome was not at all intentional, although the follow-up operation against Torgaljin Corp's base in the Lava Castle was entirely successful and no further human lives were lost during our assault on this facility.

As for what happened to the inhabitants of the Torgaljin base in the aftermath of that raid, I can only speculate how events might have unfolded. As the Lava Castle base has been effectively isolated for the past hundred and two years, I am understandably reluctant to carry out a detailed reconnaissance mission in order to ascertain whether anyone is still alive down there. Camera drones have been sent there on several occasions, although they were deliberately made to be unable to operate the base's airlock controls. My greatest concern is that Torgaljin personnel might capture a more sophisticated drone and begin reverse-engineering its more accessible components. Considering that I took particular care in completely shutting down Torgaljin's illegal operations on this planet, I had no intention of handing over what amounted to an instant technological advantage. They were slapped down hard, and I want those bastards to stay slapped down.
Permanently.

I'm currently making a large underwater base that I'm treating as a sort of research lab to study all the cool stuff in the world of Subnautica. On multiple occasions I've thought to myself how useful it would be to have some sort of tablet that I could write things on, and maybe a shelf to store such tablets.
Imagine the usefulness of being able to leave yourself an in-game note full of things you're working on/planning to do when you log off so the next time you log in, you can easily remind yourself of what you were doing last time you played. Or maybe you'd want to make a checklist of materials for things you're building that you can take with you when you're out exploring, so you don't have to repeatedly scroll through menus whenever you want to check what you need for that Moonpool or PRAWN suit you're trying to build.

Subnautica World War II

It has been some time since the War of the Five Fish. Some parties lost Power, and some others grew with it. One indisputable fact is that now, the only thing that exists are not parties, but heavily militarized factions, willing to fight with everything they have on defense of their interests.

New players also arrived. From the depths of the Aurora vessel, came the creatures that dominated the Foreign Migration Minority Advocates, turning it into a ruthless powerhouse that answers to none but itself. And more powerful beings also arised.
During the normal internal relations of the factions of 4546B, be they harmonious or agressive, they unleashed something far dangerous than anyone could conceive.

PaterAestus, the long forgotten Emperor, has made his appearance public again, enforcing na agenda of complete dominination over the whole world. He already started enforcing his will, not only using the creatures from the deep, of the Inactive Lava Zone, but also disgusting mutants who evolved from the Carar bacterium, beings only known by the name of Kharaa. Only two choices are available with him: obey or die.
This new war is not about territories, neither politics or resources. This new War, waged between the Aboveworld Alliance against the Underworld Lava Empire, is for something much simpler, but far more complex and infinitely more valuable: the right to exist.

If the Aboveworld Alliance loses, then everything they built until now shall be forfeit, for there will be no other harmony besides the obedience to Pater.

This is a war for survival. This is the war that is the 4546B World War II, and their terrifying battles and clashing forces shall be recorded under one name:

The Lava War

Factions backstories:

The Devorandum Confederacy, @ResolutionBlaze
The National Violence Party was formed soon after the crash of the Dasagi, though under a different name, originally known as the Oceanic Congregation of Predators. The OCP was founded by one only called “Bonecruncher”, a Reaper Leviathan formerly a part of a tribe found in The Dropoff.

Bonecruncher founded the OCP as a response to regulation on predator behavior in the Reef with previous administrations and the lack of efforts to remove human technology from the sea. Sandsharks were being banished from the Grassy Plateaus to the Dunes, and prey population was exploding. Bonecruncher was able to push back these policies based on the predator vote, but otherwise garnished no publicity for a time.

Bonecruncher was seen as a laughing stock in the political field, as many criticised his overly naturalist ideas as “barbaric” and “uncivilized” although Bonecruncher was able to gain the support of all Reaper Leviathans in the Dunes and other areas. Other parties jokingly called them the, “National Violence Party” and despite the name originally being a mockery, the Reapers took it on as their official name, wearing the former insult as a sign of pride and a testament to their philosophy.

When the Aurora crashed, Bonecruncher decided enough was enough. Bonecruncher ran for the position of President, and was successful in beating back any other potential party for the position. The NVP were unsuccessful in the attempt, however, President Peeper taking the stage as President. The NVP then moved on to the Gubernatorial Election in the Grand Reef. Although the NVP had a slow start, they received quick support toward the end of the election, shooting up into the third most popular party for the position, beat out by their rivals, the ECPA, whom hold the complete opposite philosophy to the NVP. Though in the process the NVP was able to absorb the Greater Ambush Association into their grasp, gaining the Sandshark vote and support.

Bonecruncher has since been active in politics, criticising policies that involved establishing any sort of structural government whose duty wasn’t to maintain equilibrium, and pushing back policies that hindered predator behavior and hunting.

Soon came the uprising of the Shoal, whom soon became the NVP’s greatest enemy. The Shoal attempted to take absolute control, and thus the NVP transformed into a military group named “The Devorandum Confederacy” which consisted of all medium to large sized predators that would wish to join it. Stalkers, formerly having little political influence, joined the Confederacy with the Sandsharks, thereby tripling the party’s numbers and influence.

The Confederacy pushed The Shoal back with active assaults against their prime positions, leading to the Shoal’s surrender soon after a rush from the SAHP marking the killing blow. Although Bonecruncher wanted retribution for The Shoal’s actions, The Reef Conglomerate were against them 2 to 1. In order to maintain peace, Bonecruncher backed down and allowed The Shoal to live.

Grand Communist Shoal Conglomerate (GCSC), @phantomfinch
Amidst the ashes of a long forgotten civilisation, another formed in the shape of.... fish?

Soon their debating and pondering formed into a political debate that rocked the planet, then came the second election, the one to change the ocean forever.

War sparked out between two party's, a nomadic Luddite from the south and a devil fishly hamson general from the north, soon the brutish warrior from the east joined the nomad, leaving the general outnumbered. As the sea grew cold a miracle srung up, peace on the southern front, a biter and a crabsquid exchanging presents. This was short lived when the mysterious and normally isolated Mesmers from the northeast invaded the generals land and crippled his nation. After the infighting a traveler, far from his home claimed that the seas were infected, he wished to develop a cure but took from the generals land. This created a rivalry between the two factions that cost the General his entire species.

Peace was brought but not without its casualties, the president of the land was injured during the final battle and died in care, the power gap was then challenged once again by the nations, but was taken from them by the reclusive druids. An arms race developed with the general retaking the gun and blowing up a thermal power plant under the planets surface to stop a genoside. This stoped the genoside but created something much worse. Another empire raised from the carcass of a starship. Men made from metal stormed through the generals land and took his prize possession, they release a artificial virus designed to turn his people against him, biter on biter, family on family, comrades on comrades. Luckily for the General he was in a sterile environment and away from the genoside. He escaped through a Teleporter but [READINGERROR]

During this a unknown enemy rose from the depths. It's ruler, a emperor claimed the above world as his property and sentenced its inhabitants to death. The emperor gained the attention of a traitors battalion from the nomads empire and the leaderless snakes from the fungi forest.

And that is where this story ends traveler, but the war for the depth begins.

The Conglomerate, N-LAP @Jamezorg
In the depths of the Grand Reef, the Crabsquid swam. Metal had rained from the sky not once but twice in the past twenty years, causing nothing but terror and despair all across the ocean. It was apparent technology wasn't to be trusted, as the Precursors one thousand years before had died, the newcomers had died and the survivor was dying.

In the deepest, darkest regions of the known seas, Governor Sheldon Cridet searched for fellow Crabsquid to join his party. The next election was coming soon, and if he didn't win the ocean would continue to be tainted by technology. He asked his cousins, brothers, friends and all family but none seemed to join.

Soon enough, Sheldon found fifty willing participants. Each of them joined his in his quest, and a Crabsquid named Jerron Shell became his right-hand-man.

The Crabsquid were once allied with the Reapers, adopting many of their social traits. The Grand Reef was governed by a Crasbquid known as Gogunad. Gogunad was a ruthless dictator, afraid of nothing, and would do anything to please the Reapers.

Sheldon stirred a rebellion. In the Deep Grand Reef they struck first. They destroyed the base found down there, and hung banners of what they called N-LAP over its wreckage. The entirety of the Deep Grand Reef became N-LAP controlled, and the Grand Reef was still ruled by Gogunad. Sheldon sent his soldiers swimming up into the Grand Reef. They won fights all across the biome, and eventually they reached Gogunad near the island above.

Before the rebellion was done, Sheldon was murdered by Jerron, his right-hand-man, an agent of Gogunad. Jerron was captured by N-LAP, as was Gogunad, and they were executed for crimes against fishkind. This left the Grand Reef leaderless; N-LAP was still searching for a leader, so they couldn't rule just yet.

A Grand Reef election would have to take place.

Foreign Migration Minority Advocates, FMMA @Casual_Player
Formed from the mechanical auxiliaries of James Anderson, a stranded human who came right on the middle of the first Election, and was a testimony to the War of the Five Fish, he was killed by the further destruction of the Aurora Mining Vessel, which he was hiding during the war, due to the explosion of the Precursor Thermal Plant by the GSCS, leading to a new leakage of radiation on a previously safe area. The AI was coordinated by an amalgamation from the PDA, the Aurora Mining Vessel's AI and Anderson's own biology, only identified as Enhanced Assistant System unit.

The nicknamed "EASY" unit began building more machines, to further help the research of the Carar bacterium, now it's prime directive, and looking for ways to dismantle the husk of Aurora. But not for long, for the amalgamation's true identity finally came forward: Aurora, the solidified personality of the amalgamation. Driven by grief and revenge for the death of James Anderson, Aurora secretely started pumping was has been known as the Nanobot superweapon, while taking possession of the Precursor Array from the fins of the GSCS, later fortifying it, and estabilishing a new base on the crash site, in addition to building more beings such as herself, with the example of Dr. Himmelreich, science leader of the FMMA, later the main head of the James Anderson Institute for Medical and Science Research, on the denominated Operation Ascendance.

Operation Transcendence was launched leading to the elimitation of 95% of biter population by the Nanobot superweapon, with hope to murder phantomfinch, the leader of GSCS, whom escaped the slaughter. Taking control of the Foreign Minorities Migration Advocates, FMMA, Aurora transformed it on a highly advanced and militarized faction of 4546B, a power which quickly became as feared as it was respected. Aurora then created an expedition force to search for the cure on the Precursor bases on the Inactive and Active Lava Zones, taking as an escort Liternaut HAL, which was deployed by the entrance to the caves. But, things went sour.

The Expedition was surrounded and ambushed by an unknown enemy. Aurora went missing deep on the caves. The new enemy was revealed to be the Emperor, an ancient being with vast power, capable of controlling the ones mutated by the Carar, who seeks dominion over all.

An action must be taken. The FMMA High Council, current rulling body of the FMMA, allied with the other factions of the "Aboveworld", ordered a large scale invasion on the caves intending to eliminate the Emperor and his army, also as taking the cure for mass production. They have the belief that their leader, Aurora, is still in there, but they are realist about their situation - that on this war, even their powerful and ruthless leader is secondary, and the priority is to eliminate the one who will enslave all. The Steel Crusade has begun.

Public Health/Safety Party, PH/SP @Enderguy059
Synthesized from the Agent Fabrication Facility, The Warpers were created from the fusion of a native species of 4546-B and Precursor technology. Instrumental in the eradication and containment of the first Carar outbreak, they observed and patrolled the planet's waters in case of another outbreak.

When the native wildlife began to foray into politics, The Warpers founded the Health and Safety Party as a means to dutifully serve the public whilst upholding the wellbeing of every organism.

However, as machines of pure logic, they were woefully underprepared when it came to the impending civil war. They initially sided with the GCSC, believing that their doctrine could potentially ensure a peaceful society. However, with the war fast approaching, the PH/SP found themselves mysteriously leaderless. Phantomfinch, head of the GCSC, assumed command of all field agents to serve in the civil war, wastefully throwing agents to the hounds whilst capturing desecrating and/or destroying the Precursor installations that Agents had sworn to protect.

However, as the War was coming to a close, the Agent Prime returned to all of his kind fighting in a destructive warzone, half of them having been indoctrinated to fight and serve for communist rule. The Agent Prime made a decision to cease all friendly relations with the GCSC and gather whatever many Warpers as he could to ensure their safety.

In the wake of the aftermath, the PH/SP endeavored to return to their former glory. During the reconstruction of the Precursor Thermal Plant, Prime had recovered the Executive Protocol Code which, when broadcasted, would place all Warpers under his command and decimating a powerful chunk of the Communist Army and placing the Agent Fabrication Facility under Warper control.

They now face a unique second outbreak of The Carar spearheaded by Pater Aestus, the mysterious and cunning leader of the Lava Empire.

Enviromental Protection and Cooperation Agency, EPCA President @Ralij – commander @the_mariner
The EPCA was born from ideals, nice thoughts that in times of peace were simply that. The Great Wars that have devastated the region forced the EPCA to mature and the dire consequences of mass extinction in battle scarred forced them to act. Now the organization finds itself at a crossroads between its ideals of peace and in the realities of standing guard on the battlefield. There is no shortage of lament on the actions that are being forced upon them, but diplomacy has failed them.

In the wars past a passive attitude reigned from the leadership and the result was bloodshed and power hungry leaders bent on domination. This war, under new leadership of the winner of the elections, the now President @Ralij, and a rising officer corps like the task forces Phalanx and Bastion, under command of @the_mariner, has seen the dedication of the EPCA to defending those under its wing. The keywords of cooperation and conservation find themselves joined by duty and honor.

Ideally, the EPCA would like for peace to return and for the Lava Empire to return as a neighbor with a period of normalization, but realize the impracticality of this arrangement with the current leadership of the Lava Empire. Failing peace through diplomacy the EPCA is forced to rely on peace through arms. If the Lava Empire falls its territory will be annexed and its people will be liberated from the tyrant. After a period of rebuilding and normalization the people of the Lava Empire will become citizens and will be represented in the Senate of the aboveworld, giving them a voice and freedoms they've never had.

Faction Powers

DC: Gets to add 3 to any attacking dice role value (because VIOLENCE!) (oh, and reapers count as 3 armies)

GCSC: Gets to add 1/2 the number of armies they have to any attacking dice role value (because strength in numbers, comrades!) <--example: Attacks with 4 armies, gets to add 2 to attacking role value
PH/SP: Get to attack or move 1 biome over from any adjacent biomes (they can teleport through 1 biome when attacking or moving)

Conglomerate: Get to negate 1 unit/army (of choice) from any attacking/defending force (Mesmers have hypnosis, Crabsquids have EMP)

UCR = have a 1/10 summon the ancient god Snekzilla. If this happens, then they automatically win the engagement.

FMMA = “It’s Drilling Time!” = re-roll the dice with the smaller value. The new dice will be valid if the new value surpass the adversary's dice value, being otherwise ignored.

EPCA= "Shell Shock" = The will of the reefbacks is unbreakable, as is their armor. EPCA gains a +3 to any defending dice role value.

Sea Emperor = "Hail to the King Baby", one unit from na enemy faction is converted into a unheard/ khara. Can only be used one a turn.

Crabsquid (Lava Empire): Ion Suicide (If an area that was controlled by the 4th division is taken over, there is the chance to detonate a Crabsquid in a nearby area, killing one unit of the attacking force. This obviously kills the Crabsquid who explodes. Can only be used once per turn.)

Lava Larva: Energy Drain ( -1 to any FMMA attacks on an area with a Lava Larva. This is not cumulative)
Mesmer: Entrancing call ( A Mesmer can move one unit from an adjacent area to help defend or attack. The Mesmer-ized unit then has -1 to all attacks for 3 turns after this power is used.)

Ampeel (Lava Empire): Discharge ( An attack that kills all in the enemies in an adjacent area. By using this power, any troops that were with the Ampeel are also killed. Only the Ampeel survives. Can only be used once per turn. Does not affect Reapers, Reefbacks, or Cyclops)

Boneshark (Lava Empire): Marrow Drain ( Boneshark attacks have a +2 attack by giving up a -1 defense for 1 turn.)

Lava Lizards and Sea Dragons act the same as Stalkers/Reapers, but it takes 4 Lava Lizards to make a Sea Dragon.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Army values
1 Reaper = 3 armies
1 Sea Dragon = 4 armies (4 Lava Lizards). Obligatory to have 4 Lava Lizards on a same territory (without counting the occupation army) before exchanging them to Sea Dragons. This unit can't be placed as a normal reinforcement.
1 Cyclops = 3 armies
1 Emperor = 15 armies. Unique. Can’t be exchanged by the equivalent armies. 1 army is equal to 1 life point, being irreplaceable. If 15 defeats
during the course of the game, the Emperor is defeated and the game ends.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Final Rules

Territory Sharing
The territories will be shared by allied factions. All the factions will still receive their reinforcements at the start of the turn according to their occupied territories, be they shared or not.If na opposing faction attacks and conquers a shared territory, that territory is lost to everyone sharing it, until it is retaken. An occupied territory by one faction can be also occupied by another faction, as long as the second faction places na occuping army on said territory. There are no limit of factions that can share the same territory. The armies of the Empire count as a single faction, besides some armies of this faction having powers of their own.

Combined Attack
If on agreement, players sharing the same territory can attack a single territory at the same time. This action counts as a turn for all of the involved allied factions. Upon execution the Combined Attacks, the players involved on this action must wait for their next turns to come.

(SPOILER alert on the last paragraph)

For me at least, having you meet other people would ruin it. I think that you should get a message from other survivors saying to meet at the rendezvous point (probably the floating island). Then you get a signal which shows you to the beach. On your way to the island, when you are approaching, you see the small silhouettes of the other people. You are not close enough to them to talk or anything, just close enough to see them. Suddenly you notice a tail in the water. It's a reaper! The reaper jumps up into the air and grabs one of the survivors, as well as knocking the others into the water. Their screams are silenced. The ocean is tinted red, but neither the reaper or the survivors can be found.

I think this would truly give a sense of isolation, similar to when the sunbeam is shot down.

Ok I'm new here so I apologise if this as been asked an answered but as stated the power to base and no power to base messages keep popping up even though my bases are all powered and I've got no idea how to disable subtitles/notifications.

My sanity would be very thankful for any help.

Ps I'm on Xbox and I've tried reloading.

Sunbeam and plot progression

Ive played through the new stuff with the sunbeam recently and have some thoughts about the events placement in the time line. I feel like it happens a bit too soon? Playing through while rushing, I managed to get a seamoth before it came but I hadn't been to the aurora yet, or gotten to most of the lifepods, or even made it to the floater island and it just made me feel so much more rushed and confused. Because I had so many plot things telling me to do stuff between the auroras drive core needing repair, the message telling me to go to the rendezvous point on floater island, and the Sunbeam messages slowing building on me. I under stand having it happen sooner so you don;t fund the structure on the other island before the message tells you to go there but it kind of ruins the feel of the game for me. I've always liked the laid back, do it as you do it feel of subnautica and everything happening so fast kind of got in the way of that.

It also got in the way of the guided exploration we had with the other messages, since, the life pod messages guided us around and then guide us out to floater island with the aurora this ever present option that we are not actively prompted to go to. I feel the Sunbeam plot should be triggered by actually going to the floater island so that once youve done that and got your next bread crumb to go deeper, then you are guided to the second island. By then most people will have wrapped up all the life pods, and probably gone to the aurora after checking out life pod 4. I just personally feel like it would fit better there. What does every one else think?

Subnautica Idea's (Feel free to post your ideas!)

Hello Subnautica, I understand that it can take time, months or even longer to create large detailed structures but I do have some ideas so please hear me out! OK so to get started I think that we can all say that the submarines in the game are awesome! Others may not be so fond of them but to my perspective (and others) I think I can figure out that we would like some more vehicles, even though we have the Cyclops, Seamoth, and the Prawn Suit; but what if there were more vehicles, one's a little more interesting! So at this point I believe that you have heard of the 3 concept art submarines with the names being Manta, Draconis, and Shark <---(Not Official), so here is where this get's interesting so as you know we have the Cyclops which is not exactly made for the conditions of the Lava Biome, so since the Draconis is a very armored submarine it could serve some purpose there or even for encountering other powerful creatures such as the Sea Dragon, Sea Emperor, and even the Reaper Leviathan. http://i.imgur.com/iCszsQs.png <--- (Draconis Image Link)

Next up we have the Manta! Now if you look at the image the size looks Massive!; but in fact that is still not the biggest submarine that I am covering but we will get to that eventually! So the Manta is a very big submarine and in my perspective couldn't really be used as a usable exploring submarine, instead it could be used as a sub-base (Submarine Base), I say this because it has very large expanding sides which looks as if it could provide enough for 4 people considering that the living space is almost like a rounded out square. Now this would be a great submarine for those that can't build a base at certain depth and there main base (or other bases) are too far away so the manta could be used for an emergency base that would be big enough to provide enough living space to provide a Bedroom, Food supply room (Fish tanks and ETC), Storage room, and even possibly a room to be used for constructing! I believe that this would be a great idea since we can't always build a base but to my perspective the Manta still looks to be big enough to house the Cyclops with the Cyclops housing the Seamoth or Prawn Suit! http://i.imgur.com/S4gWnYo.png <--- (Manta Image Link)

For the third and final of my suggestions we have the one and only submarine, Shark! Now this submarine for sure looks capable enough to house the Draconis housing the Cyclops housing either the Seamoth or Prawn Suit (assuming the Draconis can house the Cyclops)! Now the shark would be great because even though if the other two submarines were to be implemented, they would still not be foreseeable to withstand the Sea Emperor. However Assuming that the Manta or Draconis can withhold the Sea Emperor it would still be a very nice submarine to have considering that you could be the king of the sea. Along with the implantation these submarines could be new technology to make them! Also another thing the Shark would be great for those who want to explore the Subnautica in deep depths that the Seamoth and Prawn Suit somehow would not be able to handle. Even though that the Shark is the biggest submarine by far it would be great for fending of those fierce Reaper Leviathans! The Shark would also be a great way to explore the depths of the Aurora or even Pre Cursor locations! Finally along with the Sharks Enormous size it could be used as a base just like the Manta except more practical for moving to locations. http://i.imgur.com/6O9Lze6.png <--- (Shark Image Link)

Anyways thanks for reading this Subnautica and I hope that you can take these submarines into consideration and possibly think of implementing them into the PC game whenever possible! I believe that it would an amazing improvement and update if these submarines were to be implemented into the game! Anyway's until then I will be watching closely for more updates to subnautica (PC)! Thank's. P.S. If you could, please send me details of any info that you think of these submarines!

Biome: The Crystal Abyss

The Crystal Abyss

Located at the edge of the map, this area is an abyss that leads toward The Dropoff. There are very big creatures still, many of whom adapted to the darkness and the fluctuating light.

Terrain/Minerals

Lithium
Lithium
Diamonds
Diamonds
Twilight Crystals
Crystals that come in varying sizes, which pulsate with purple light; the only natural lightsource. They light up floating rocks, walls, and some caves, lighting up and dimming at various rates.

Fauna

Crawling Bottomfeeder
A large, white spider-like creature that coats the insides of caves and the bottoms of rocks in large numbers. They’re one of the two only non-predatory creatures.

Picture comparison:

Deep Floater
A variation of the Floater, these creatures lift up the floating rocks. They are almost completely see through and more liquidy than their normal cousins.

Sinker
Scavenger variations of the Floater, the Sinker can latch onto prey and shift their overall mass to extraordinary levels, causing creatures to sink to the bottom and get crushed from the weight. The Sinker then proceeds to consume the remains. This leaves fields of skeletons on the bottom of the Abyss. They are able to move like tumbleweed across the ocean floor, or they can simply float aimlessly until a creature is unlucky enough to be grasped by them.

Bladefish

A large herbivorous fish with a defensive blade in a hammerhead style, these fish can easily slip out of the mouths of predators that manage to eat them whole, as the predator’s throat will be sliced up from the blades. You must grab or eat them from behind, where they are exposed.

Flashfish

An unusual fish, the Flashfish is a medium-sized predator that resembles an Angler Fish. On their back is the same purple crystals that pulsate with light and a strange rocky-like back that resembles stone. The fish curls into a ball waiting for prey to be drawn near the light, waiting for it's moment to strike. Flashfish don’t flash when an Abyssal Terror is nearby.

Abyssal Terror
Second largest predator, the Abyssal terror is half the size of a Reaper Leviathan. With a powerful tail and natural propelling jets, the Terror lunges at its prey, the Flashfish, and carries it away several hundreds feet before anything can react.

Grim Leviathan
The Largest predator; the Grim Leviathan is a common leviathan variation of the Reaper Leviathan. The Grim has a grey topside and a brown underbelly. It’s mandibles are far sharper to pierce through the rocky skin of prey.

46 hours work in there....
The game crashed, had to re-start my computer... fine, but when I reloaded it was as if I had just started a new game!
I really, REALLY don't want to start a new game! Please fix?

Multiple Endings?

It would be interesting if there were different endings, like the standard "Disable the gun, build a rocket, get the hell off of the planet," ending, but wouldn't it be cool if you could disable the gun early in the game, and thus save the Sunbeam and get taken back out to space? There could be other endings, too. Leave your ideas for new endings!

Finding out what the precursors looked like - with logic!

Ok, we're probably never going to see the precursors ingame. But we can find out what they looked like from their structures.

1. They had tentacles.
The buildings have no stairs, only ramps. I can't really imagine a tentacled alien climbing steps.
2. They had hands - or at least arms
The data consoles have keys - how else would they use them? Also, how else would they hold the artifact keys?
3. They have large brains.
They're telepathic, so they have to have a larger brain.

What does that sound like? Yep, you guessed it.

A WARPER.

I'm not saying warpers are precursors, they just look like them. We make our robots look like us, (example - C-3PO) so why wouldn't they?

Bulkheads Still Broken

Hi, I've been playing this wonderful game since 6 months in I believe and have enjoyed it greatly. One thing though, bulkheads. These fun little additions to a meticulous base are great for me but have not worked ever: I place them down and they just won't open, no matter where I go. Contextual point: I'm on stable build, my save game is new to Jan 2017 43604 and I just got back on with a new save to find the bulkheads still do not open. Still.

Disappearing Waterproof Lockers

Okay, so, I had made a Waterproof Locker for myself just to have some extra storage in case I needed it. I placed it inside my Lifepod and stored some copper, quartz, lead, magnesium and coral samples in it. I went out to look for more supplies for bleach and lube, and when I came back to retrieve some copper ore, I realized my Locker was completely gone! I looked outside and it didn't glitch out anywhere.

I lost some valuables (I'm new to playing the game so I really needed those extra supplies to make batteries and the like, so that stuff is valuable to me) in that Locker and I'm kinda scared to make a second one and store stuff in it. One thing that recently crossed my mind was that; am I supposed to put that Waterproof Locker INSIDE the Lifepod? Or are they supposed to be outside and in the water?

We have a bigger chance of the ghost leviathan now!

Sea Moth Fragments

I'm fairly new to playing Subnautica; I have watched YouTubers play it, but until recently I have not been able to play the game myself. I must say that it's amazing and very addictive!

Now, I've gotten a whole lot of stuff; radiation suit (I accidentally made one before I got the thing about Lifepod 6 so technically I have 2 now), sea glider, knife, water, food, scanner, repair tool, flashlight, batteries, oxygen tank and some extra supplies on the side. I've explored Lifepod 17 already and that's where I found the second fragment of the Sea Moth (and where I also almost got eaten by a herd of Sand Sharks trying to find the third fragment). However, I have no idea as to where I can find the third piece of it. When you make a new game, are pieces of things randomly scattered? Or do they have a definite location? And where on earth (or, I guess, on that alien planet) can I find that third Sea Moth fragment?

Do I have to wait until I get another signal from another lifepod to find the third fragment? Or do I have to just keep exploring until I find it? Because I just randomly found the first fragment of the Sea Moth around the edge of that Kelp Forest place, and the second fragment was at lifepod 17. Is the third fragment at lifepod 6 (because I looked around it and couldn't seem to find it)? Sorry for all the questions, but I REALLY want that Sea Moth blueprint!

Fish Efficiency: A Guide to Choosing What to Put in Aquariums (Now with egg-laying creatures!)

DOWNLOAD LINK WORKS NOW ;)

Now, if you've gathered as much quartz as I have, you're always looking for ways to get rid of it and have to go find some more. So why not spend it on the most essential of all items: fish tanks!
These invaluable containers let you hold lots of fish to look at. And you can eat them too!

But I couldn't be satisfied with just any fish. No, I wanted the best fish! The kind that would restore the most hunger! The kind that would give the most energy in a Bioreactor! (Not that I would do such a thing, of course. It's just important to have the information.) The kind that would be the easiest to catch two of!

And so, I created a spreadsheet for determining which fish is best based on a variety of stats, including:
 • Food
 • H₂O
 • Energy (Not that I would chop up adorable little fish for use in a Bioreactor, of course)
 • Catchability
 • Rarity
 • Biome
 • And, finally, quotes from the game on the taste and nutritional value of the fish.

But that's not all! The Fish-Efficiency chart also includes the stats on a full selection of food or resource-producing plants, both above and below water, as well as an all new chart on other egg-laying creatures!
