Sync error 0x83860012

I just upgraded to a one x and have been really looking forward to checking out the performance increase on subnautica.
However, the game save will not sync to my new one x. As the title says, I get the error code: 0x83860012. I've reinstalled the game 3x (once on a network xfer from my original Xbox), deleted/reloaded my profile, done hard resets, and even factory resets (keeping saves/data and also without). Nothing seems to work. I have an external drive being delivered tomorrow, so I'm going to try copying the game data from my original Xbox and transferring it to the new one x. But, is anyone else getting this error code? Anyone know of solutions? Right after xmas there must be dozens of us. Dozens!

Refunds?

At what point do we start talking about refunds? I got the latest update hoping it'd at least get to finish out the lava zone. And I may be able to do that, but it's going to be absolutely miserable as my prawn is extremely difficult to pilot with all the lagging I'm experiencing.

But I look at the issues I'm having, and looking around the forums at the issues everyone else is having, and really starting to think everyone just deserves their money back at this point. This obviously isn't even remotely a finished product, and I have zero confidence it's going to become one any time soon.

Refund our money and either go back to selling it as a pre-release until you get a real release ready....or just abandon the console ports if it doesn't look like it's going to get ready.

Either way, I think it's starting to border on immoral to sell the current product under the guise as being "finished".

Below Zero creature interactions thread

Hey! Crabcake!

mw0tt4bo9yar.jpg

Poorly-photoshopped memes aside, Now that below zero is officially out, I'd like this to be a thread to discuss the ecology of 4546B's Arctic oceans. A place to notice what creature interactions are already in the game, which one's we'd like to see in the future, and any problems we might have with the state of the ai and whatnot. I haven't actually played the game yet, but when I do I'll add to this thread. I'll start off with some speculation, though:

There are several animals in below zero that spend significant portions of their lives on land. The Pengwing, Pinnicarid (a personal favorite btw!), and possibly the snowstalker, depending on if it swims like a polar bear to chase prey. One question this immediatly brings up is: Do these creatures breathe air? The obvious answer would be yes, since their earth counterparts do. However, since it is an alien planet it's possible that creatures like the pengwing and pinnicarid breathe underwater and are able to "hold their breath" on land. Whichever way it is, I hope there's some system in the game where these creatures have to come to the surface to breathe, on occasion. If it's the reverse, then maybe there should be a system where they can't spend too much time out of the water. Some stuff in the trailer was pretty sweet too- that giant worm breaking through the ice bring up a few question as well: Will it only target the player, or will it target animals on ice flows? Will it even have a way to target things on top of the ice? How will it's heated nose ability interact with the world at large?

There's plenty more to nitpick about the game and dozens of new fauna species out there to be discovered, so lets get going!

PS4 - Crash on second load

On PS4 1.06 (and previous versions), the game almost always crashes during the second load operation of a game save.
This does not happen on first load.

To reproduce:
- Start the game
- Load a game save
- Play for a while (this step is actually mandatory - I failed to reproduce the bug without it)
- Go back to the main menu
- Load a game save
-> Crash (at the "Loading level (XX%)" stage)

No corruption of game saves is happening in this case - the save will load nominally after restarting the game.

This is not a game breaker, but it would be nice to see this fixed.

Map in Tablet

I think that there should be a mod that you have to go find in a wreckage, then make with a fabricator. The mod show up on the tablet as an tab. However you need to go around and discover with the map, and this will show you when you put your cursor over the biome, and resources that's gathered there. This will I think would be a nice addition to the game so we don't need to know or remember where certain biomes are.

It seems Below Zero won't feature VR

Hi,

to my shame, I only came on to the board because I got a little triggered by the steam forum and the following statement from one of the devs.

"Obraxis:
Sadly we don't think we'll be able to do VR justice. Not because we don't love VR (we do) or all own multiple headsets (we do)....We wanted to do a better job with SN1 but time and availability of people was difficult. We just don't want people having a bad experience in VR for Below Zero, so we're likely not doing it unless we can find the time. Making the game itself is the top priority."

I just want to carry this over here, because it seems, here no one has caught on to this yet? I wrote some suggestions on the steam forum but this very thread just turned toxic the moment this message hit. So I hope this forum stays civil and focuses on problem solving.

So my question was (both to devs and community) why not make a VR mode DLC? I can see that there is not much monetary gain with VR as a feature. But to me the question is, couldn't we change this by buying into VR? If this would be implemented with a crowdfunding sort of model it could also prove its viability in advance. My pledge/offer would be 200€! I don't know about you but I really want see this happen and I like UnknownWorld enough so the money would seem good invested to me even though it would way overshoot the price of one copy. Since I saw the pimax Kickstarter campaign that gathered about 4.000.000,- € I think there is a very good chance for a subnautica campaign. This game is really famous for it's VR mode and below zero from the screenshots, looks even a lot more gorgeous. These graphics in VR would blow me away!

Please tell me what you think

Feedback linked to wrong Account? - PS4 - 1.06

Hello!
I am really enjoying the game so far, but I discovered a strange error or bug in my game.
While playing, you stumble across some minor bugs like "burning water" or "gelsacks stuck in my inventory" and I reported them through the feedback system built in the game on PS4.

I never got an answer on my few reports, but I didnt wonder about that, because I guess many people are playing the game and so there are a lot of messages that you have to reply to.

Recently I got an answer on a bug (hurray!), BUT it was not a bug that I myself reported but another player.

It says: Cuddlefish trophy not triggering
and the answer: Did your cuddlefish hatch?

So I was wondering if maybe my account is linked to the wrong feedback window? Or maybe I swapped the feedback window with another random player? My PSN is the same as my username in this forum, so you could check it out I guess (?).

Anyway, I just wanted to report that, because obviously I can't do that through the feedback system. :D

Thanks in advance for any answer written about my problem. :)

PS: additionally I want to report, that my screenshots I am taking during the game keep deleting themselves, which is kinda sad but overall not gamebraking for me.

Patch 1.0.0.31 and my updated saved game

Hi Fellow Subnautican's
Been busy over xmas and new year so haven't been able to play my current saved game. Noticed that there was a new patch, so fired up the old XB1, to see if Subnautica, had d/l the latest patch and it had, so I started the game. Took a while to boot up, but eventually the game starts, I select my saved game, and I'm in, all good so far; then I exit Pod 5, and where are all the fish. I mean nothing, not a sausage, not even the background shoals of fish; so I start swimming and having a look around. Couldn't see any Stalkers, in the creepvine beds, or any Gasopods; I begin to worry, I keep swimming, eventually I spot a single Reefback. I have a bit of a look around underneath him, and I spot some fish, well I say some I mean two or three, I grab them take them back to Pod 5. On the way there, I spot a Sand Shark, and that's it, otherwise nothing, still getting frame rate issues, and I'm thinking wow so much for the patch.
So I start a new game, and the difference is like night and day; teaming with fish, resources the whole nine yards. This is the bit that I hate about Subnautica, most of the time when there's some sort of improvement you have to start all over again, otherwise you don't get the benefit of the changes!

Below Zero system requirements question

Hi, everyone, long time no see. It's good to be back and excited for the new game. I really missed this community.

Anyway, I know no one can really tell me now, at the earliest stage of early acces, how the reqirements are gonna change for the full game BUT... I am not tech savvy and I'd like to ask those of you who actually know how stuff works - does it make any sense for me to buy Below Zero? Asking because I saw recommended requirements for Below Zero and my heart fell. I have an old comp and I absolutely can not afford any upgrades right now. This is what I have: i7 4550 @1.50GHz, GTX 770, 16 GB RAM, no SSD. It played Subnautica fine with a mix of mid and high settings, it wouldn't give me 60FPS but I'm fine with anything above 30 really. I do however need anti aliasing and textures on high or my eyes will bleed. So, any thoughts/opinions for me, please?

Arctic diaries I - Flying Crashfish

Altera survival Log day 2 - Robin Goodall
Day two after the storm destroyed the research station around the rocket relay station, I have discovered some concerning organisms. The crashfish is an organism endemic to the oceans of 4546B, their ability to deliver catastrophic barometric explosions made all the more dangerous by how territorial and aggressive they are. As they are a marine organism, the concerns regarding the organism is limited but I have discovered something incredibly concerning
Capture.jpg
The crashfish, formerly considered an entirely marine organism, has began to manifest nests above the waterline on the ice sheets surrounding the site of the research station. Whilst this may be a simple coincidence of nature, the possibility of these crashfish achieving amphibious capabilities and perhaps even flight is incredibly concerning. It is unknown how dangerous these crashfish are, but if they indeed are able to manifest as full air breathers they may one day gain the capabilities to assault Altera space stations directly through large swarms of suicide crashfish. If not properly contained, these crashfish may eventually evolve to become the dominant organism in the Orion arm precinct. I will need to do more research to find out more about this incredibly concerning development.

Different RAM in Below Zero?

My computer only has 6 GB of RAM. Old Subnautica minimums at 4 GB, but why does Below Zero need 8 GB?
Can I handle the game with only 6 GB? Or will this change after early access so the RAM will return to 4 GB?
I REALLY NEED TO PLAY BELOW ZERO!!

Thanks in advance!

Cyclops Suggestions.

Just some ideas for if you guys ever feel a need to tweak the Cyclops.

The first was to add in all of the necessary internals as prebuilt modules that're already in the Cyclops, then add in a feature to control the power flow to all of the internals. The point would be to make the Cyclops feel more functional and full when you actually get it as opposed to it feeling empty at first then it being up to you to build it up. The power control would also help conserve your energy more instead of constantly getting drained.

The second was to increase the storage capacity of the built in lockers and then fill in the locker room with more compartments. It's weird that the walls were textured to have sections for the lockers and then small shelve units above them but weren't given any more than a handful. If that would get added that'd be a really nice QOL improvement.

Final idea was a rework for the power generator options. The cyclops lacks a solar option all together and the thermal reactor seems really weak, so with the idea of adding in a solar option I thought of a solution to make both strong and also make them into cooler functions. The idea is that instead of passively generating energy you instead "Deploy" the cyclops either into a solar generator or thermal generator mode. When it activates it shuts down all power to the engine, shield generator, and becomes completely stationary. During the deployed mode it regenerates alot more energy than before but the trade off is that you can't move and can't use your defensive measures.

I'm not sure how the devs see the role for the Cyclops but I personally don't see a problem with it becoming a self sufficient mobile base, especially if the energy generator upgrades are already pretty late game which could justify their usefulness pretty easily. In the end though those are nothing more than suggestions and probably aren't worth taking time away from Below Zero. Love the game and can't wait to get my hands on the new expansion. May the UWE team have a happy new years!

Very strange framerate bug when looking NNE from starting area.

I first noticed FPS drops when running around my base. At first I thought it was the windows causing more stuff to render, but then noticed it happened even when staring at a blank wall. Eventually realised it was direction based.

lDcT6_pah_5-7GGqGuRv7WrpFyNF0_CpMWFnx76crr0.jpg?w=563&s=a13a0a01ef92fb6b8b1d077de0686b4e

The readings above were taken from inside the starting lifepod (-142, 5.8, -385.7). I also got the same readings standing on top of the pod, and in the sea directly below it. Facing any direction between NNW and ENE tanks my FPS. My base is a short distance west of the lifepod. I edged the screen along pixel by pixel from the west and then from the east. This indicated that the issue was caused by something exactly NNE.

I also discovered this behaviour only occurs within a certain area, a square bound by -320 to -509 north/south and -191 to -2 west/east. The moment I leave this square my fps shoots back up to normal. There is a hard boundary between normal and low fps. Deleting my entire cellscache folder returned my FPS to normal. This is at 1920x1080 on high presets. GTX1060 6GB, 6600K, SSD, all latest drivers.

Someone on reddit had the same issue and said they'd noticed their GPU load dropping when the FPS dropped. I tested and found the same, my GPU load dropping from 100% to around 30%.

Bit more detail on my reddit thread here: https://reddit.com/r/subnautica/comments/7t5b2f/massive_fps_drop_when_looking_in_certain/?st=jd4zxeu6&sh=88a2c0b7

Is it playable now? (31/01/2019)

As per title, I've got Subnautica during XBOX ONE early access and stopped playing it because of horrible graphical lag, visual artifacts- like giant black boxes and floating stuff loading in before islands- bugs where research items and resources would disappear from the world, and so on and so forth.

I wanted to wait until all of this got possibly fixed and the achievements were live in order to play the game in a serious manner from start to finish. Once it got released as 1.0 I saw with disappointment that it was a "1.0" in name alone, a lot of these issues still being a factor, but that at the same time the bug fixing of the release version was handed off to Panic Button, so I had high hopes for some actual progress to come in that sense. Now Unknown Worlds is making noises about Sub Zero coming to XBOX ONE early access, and I wonder what people think about the current state of Subnautica on console.

Is it playable? Should I wait another 6 months and hope for the best?

Idea for update/remake/DLC expansion.

I know it's really early to talk about this (Below Zero's alpha isn't even close) but I'd like to suggest a new idea I had.
I'd really like some sort of DLC/remake version/update that Adds scrapped content or new ideas (from Below Zero as well as other things that would fit in; and things that didn't quite make it) To the main game of Subnautica.
For example, terraforming, (hopefully multiplayer if possible), cyclops docking bay, transfuser, grab crab, twisty bridges, weather, etc.
Of course for some changes, other things will have to be altered, but I think that's ok as long as it doesn't change the core experience much.

I love Subnautica already and would go as far as to say it is one of, if not the best survival game out there, but I think these features would make the game even better than before and expand the experience in an amazing way.

On Below Zero please make the big creatures spawn point also random like the starting point.

Just like you have a random starting point (I am aware its a list of pre-determined locations, still great), the major creatures could also use some random (ok pre-determined list for each) to really add replay value. Even if each but leviathan had only 3 possible starting points, it would spice things up quite a bit

I know this is a long shot but we could use this on the current base game too ;)

Question regarding Below zero roadmaps on known Subnautica bugs

$
0
0
Sure a new game will have new challenges but I seriously would like to know if a couple of persistent bugs on Subnautica will exist in Below zero, given they are at the core game:
  • Creatures glitching in and out of walls/floor, eventually despawning forever
  • Inability to access some systems from vehicles on some circumstances (example: can't access anything from Prawn suit while its docked)
  • Pop-in and failed texture loads when you are too fast (although I have this happen to me countless time when I was swimming unpowered)

The question is more a wonderment on what we should consider bugs for the new game and thus report, and what not. If Subnautica bugs will remain into Below Zero, then doesn't make much sense to bother reporting it.

On a second note, I read that once Below Zero is released there might be a patch in Subnautica to fix common bugs that where fixed in Below Zero production and can be applied to Subnautica, is that true?
