[Crash] The Game crashes for no obvious Reason (or at least not obvious for me) [59963]

As read in the Title, I got the Problem for a little while now, that the Game simply crashes for no obvious Reason (or at least not obvious for me). I tried all that I could, done the Troubleshooting Guide (twice), switched to experimental Version, nothing helped. After a little Research I found out, that some of you guys know more about Codes than me. I read a Post on how to post a good Crash Report, so I put the following on pastebin (I really hope the links work):

The last two Files are taken from a seperate Folder which was created the last Time it crashed.
I thank all of you guys in Advance for I really like to play the Game and would be kinda dissapointed to not be able to play anymore.

I first noticed FPS drops when running around my base. At first I thought it was the windows causing more stuff to render, but then noticed it happened even when staring at a blank wall. Eventually realised it was direction based.

The readings above were taken from inside the starting lifepod (-142, 5.8, -385.7). I also got the same readings standing on top of the pod, and in the sea directly below it. Facing any direction between NNW and ENE tanks my FPS. My base is a short distance west of the lifepod. I edged the screen along pixel by pixel from the west and then from the east. This indicated that the issue was caused by something exactly NNE.

I also discovered this behaviour only occurs within a certain area, a square bound by -320 to -509 north/south and -191 to -2 west/east. The moment I leave this square my fps shoots back up to normal. There is a hard boundary between normal and low fps. Deleting my entire cellscache folder returned my FPS to normal. This is at 1920x1080 on high presets. GTX1060 6GB, 6600K, SSD, all latest drivers.

Someone on reddit had the same issue and said they'd noticed their GPU load dropping when the FPS dropped. I tested and found the same, my GPU load dropping from 100% to around 30%.

So, i'm in the middle of class, and the teacher said to do an essay. He said he'll post it on the google classroom, but I thought the prompt was on the board already. He didn't say that it wasn't.

Basically, I wrote three paragraphs for no reason.

Along with that, I also had about 20 people just... you know...

...walk right in front of me in line.

I ended up not getting the pizza.

The upcoming DLC

Supposedly the upcoming dlc will be based in an entirely new location of the planet, and put us in control of a diff survivor.

As a personal opinion, i would like to see us given the option of playing thru this new location with our first/single character(before escaping), and give the players a gender choice for both the main game and dlc.

For the first part, i dont like the idea of having spent the time investing into the first playthru (all the base building, exploration, ect) then turning around and having to start over for the DLC. I understand that story-wise it's supposed to be a brand new person, but i prefer continuity in games like this. Gives me a deeper sense of satisfaction when i finally do make it to the end.

As for the second part, just think it would be a favor to the players if we're given the choice to play a male or female character. Having the ability to choose in both instances(dlc path and gender choice) would increase the play-value of an already awesome game.

Again, want to reiterate that this is all just personal opinion based on what i've heard, and is in no way meant to be a demand or rant :)

While I am fully aware that the stinger at the end of the credits is a brick joke from a PDA blurb at the beginning of the game, what does that mean for the player? Are they just stuck in orbit until they run out of supplies since I doubt they can pay off their outstanding balance of 1 trillion credits?

While funny, that's kinda messed up in hindsight.

The Universe of Subnautica and noteable others

I, myself, know nothing of Unknown World's game universe simply because subnautica is relatively blind as far as lore goes. That is, a Subnautica player (like myself) would focus on the evolution of a certain creature in-game while a Natural Selection player, (which I am most definitely not,) might have a clearer view of- say- the development of the Khaara, (which before the name change I'd always pronounced 'serar'). And so, I was wondering if there're any Natural Selection players out there who could better describe the timeline of the two games.

This question was kindled by my having looked briefly into NS2, (finding it a grotesque and un-appealing game,) but saw that one of the character models looked suspiciously similar to the warper from Subnautica.

Silent Running shouldn't consume power (or should consume next to nothing) when engine is off.

Multiple streamers leave Silent Running on with the engine off waiting for the big bad to go away. This shouldn't be burning the same amount of energy as running the engine + dampening the noise. Should be zero power draw, or negligible power draw, if there's still some benefit over a rig that's had the engine shut off and light killed manually.

For an example, see here. (9:10 -- 86% power, waits overnight with engine off in Silent Running ("dead" mode, I'm sure he thinks) 13:28 -- next morning, 12% power left)

That's what Subnautica is: 2 extremes. SN is a genuine great game. It's fun, intriguing, exiting, captivating and a bunch of other superlatives. On the other hand it's performance on Xbox One is truly abysmal. I find I can say that for an early access game because they say it's nearly finished. But it just doesn't run on XB1. It's like they try to make it run on a Pentium. And be honest (no PC master jokes needed here) , XB1 is no Pentium. AC Origins and The Division. Both open world games with tonnes of detail look and perform superb on the same machine.
SN in contrast can't draw a seafloor 20m ahead. Draw in and pop-up are rife. Numerous times I have fallen through the bottom because it wasn't drawn yet when I put my Prawn down. If I was lucky, there was a cave beneath it so I could land there. Otherwise the Prawn would keep falling 3000-4000-5000 meters. Numerous times I missed an important wreck with dearly needed stuff inside because it wasn't drawn when I passed the spot. I only found them by sheer luck when I stopped moving to take a sip of my coffee or by intentional scanning for databoxes, going to designated point and waiting there until everything was drawn.
Sand sharks and Ampeels are black squares when bloom is turned on. Initial loading of the game takes one-hundred-and-eighty-five seconds (185 !)
That added a good few hours to my game. And although falling through the floor and invisible wrecks actually break the game, why can't I stop playing it? I've clocked in more than 75 hours in 2 weeks. A game of extremes.
But seriously devs: get it together. If AC origins and Uncharted can run as they do on XB1, then SN should do much better than it does now. (upd. 84)
But seriously devs no.2: thank you so much for Subnautica. It's one of the best I've played in a long time (when i see past performance that is). I adore the underwater setting, the alien stuff, the simple but captivating story and I applaud the single player choice! I'm really curious how 1.0 will perform and what will come next.

PRAWN/Cyclops Ergonomics - Accessing storage

I didn't see this in a forum search, so here goes.
I absolutely love the combination that is the Cyclops/PRAWN Suit. Hearts-and-flowers love it. Except for one teensy thing: unless I'm missing something, you can't access the PRAWN's storage compartment when it's docked to the Cyclops. Now, it's entirely possible that I'm an idiot and it's already possible and I'm just a dolt who can't figure that out.
But in the off chance I'm not a moron, a minor redesign of the hatch covering in the docking bay would allow you to reach the PRAWN's storage compartment when it's docked. Of course, there's no such thing as a "minor redesign" when it comes to 3D models, but it's really the only problem I've had with that pairing.

Anyone else using the off-topic void?

What games are you really enjoying at the moment? I'm always wondering what kind of stuff you guys are into. It could be old, new, or in the middle, I don't care. If you love a game, let me know.

I'm absolutely loving Ultimate General: Civil War. It's a simply amazing game that's shaping up to be a spectacular RTS with a very solid campaign. The AI is probably the best I've ever seen from a RTS game, bar none. It's how the Total War AI should always have been. It's developed by the guy who does all the TW Darthmods so it's no wonder. If you enjoy RTS games or love history, this is a must.

Battle Brothers is my GOTY though. Turn-based combat, violence aplenty, lots of loot and mercs who you genuinely care about and feel devastated when an Orc beheads them or cuts off their arm, forcing you to send them into battle without a shield so they die, and you cry.
It's a really addictive and enjoyable game, one I keep going back to. 300 hours on Steam and it's not even 1.0.

In other gaming news, last week I started Fallout 4 again after getting about half way through it when it first came out. This time it's massively modded and to be honest I enjoyed spending 10 or so hours modding it more than I enjoy playing it. It's just so... repetitive? Mundane? It's like going through the motions. I don't think I'll be playing it for much longer.

Shadow Tactics just came out. I blasted through it pretty quickly. I loved the Commandos games when I was younger and this felt like a return to those old times. It's basically a Commandos clone set in Feudal Japan, not very much to say, but if you liked Commandos it's definitely worth checking out for nostalgia's sake.

I just installed Broken Sword: Director's Cut. I never played it so I'm looking forward to that. It's been so long since I did a point-n-click, Shardlight and Technobabylon were good though.

Hi, well I found you. Today I came up with an idea that I hope you like. I stayed and I thought how it would be in the game to be able to meet with different survivors of the Aurora. I mean, instead of those messages that come from lifepods and when you get there there is nobody ... you better find a survivor or a message where they left or something. What I mean is a kind of story for a new (version / DLC).

Started this Post originally to get the ball rolling didn't realise how many would respond, so if you have bugs that are not on the list just mention it within the comment section below, depending on free time and playing subnautica it may take me awhile to respond or even update the list, thanks from a fellow subnautica fan for the help guys. Hopefully the major bugs will get fixed and help get the game running smoother in the foreseeable future

BUGS


- any building block's I place that goes through or slightly into the reef/ rocks & plant life will be Terra formed as expected but if you load or come back to the Area after a journey it will go back to its original form and glitch through the building block deny access through walkways etc.

- when a breach floods your base fish will swim through or spawn in the base, even found fish swimming/ floating even without a breach. while in the Cyclops/ big sub if you hold a snap block/ base building item's while in the sub it did a 360 spinning around demolishing anything in sight.

- found wreckage parts, doors, flood lights and reef parts floating in the sky.

- frame rate issues

- game crashes often even more so while playing in creative (to as expected)

- picking up alien fish even while directly next to it does not work sometimes (hit box to small?)

- Crashed while in the seamoth to where it looked like I was on the edge of space treading water. No amount of restarting fixed it. When I finally died a hour later due to dehydration, I spawned back where the life pod was with my vehicle bay and lifepod gone. I didn't see the seamoth beacon either. Restarted the game -

- Third game crashed while I was next to the aurora and out scanning fragments. When the game reloaded I was back at the pod. The base i built and my vehicle bay were gone and again I didn't see my seamoth beacon -

BUG LIST UPDATED [20/05/16]

- Life Pod cannot be repaired SneezyPanda

- I deleted my survival and started a new one to try and get crash powder to spawn, and it worked! I made a welder and fixed the pod. I put the welder in the pod storage. Went out to start a base, and when I came back the pod was gone. The pod beacon said it was way off in the distance, I traveled for 5 min and got nowhere - xNeil_Armstrong

- I also had a glitch happen last night that I got stuck in my Seamoth and couldn't get out and every time I tried to press the A button to get out it would say " SpawnFailed ". It fixed after I restarted the game twice - MayaMidnight

- ealier today when i loaded up subnautica my survival world broke. The world outside my escape pod doesn't load up anything its just a huge blank open ocean no land no fish nothing. Im not sure what caused it as i saved and exited to main menu before i got off last time - Fearingsix

- ive just had one when exploring the mushroom forest right outside the aurora while looking for cyclopse fragments on survival. no idea how it happened but i got launched flying into the sky while in my seamoth, then the screen went all blurry and after that i was sent about 500m in the sea way too far out the map id say about over 300,000m away from my pod - DroopyGlint

- water clipping through building blocks at surface level - IzaacJ

- character can easily get stuck on the banisters by any connecting corridor in the multifunction room, requiring you to save and quite to fix the issue - EVILONE15

- Hi I am new to the game on Xbox. I wanted to report that the game also crashes while being in the main menu just sitting in idle. I wanted to pause the game in the main menu and come back later. I tried if it was accidental but the game crashes every time while idle in main menu. It does it within an hour and quite some turns now. - oelikoelie

- I found that fragments in my game despawn mid-scanning period when I'm bitten by a Biter. Really annoying, 'cause I really need a mobile vehicle bay. - Darwin-Evolution

- it only happened once but I tried to get into my base via moonpool but when I went into it, I fell through the base and landed on the ground (underwater) like I was on land. Only for me to realize that my oxygen was not going down and I was walking underwater (like my base) and I had to climb up to my hatch to "leave my base" - trainman16

- sometimes if I look down while I am in my base it slows my walking speed to nearly 5% - Melinity

- As soon as I finished building a multi-purpose room the game crashed and I lost all of my data, the game denies that I have created any saved games - Rawrr

anything else that comes to me I will update this post, also anyone can contribute to the list, I know its a preview and all just here to help, also to note I will have no idea if and when these bugs are fixed (guessing after a bug update in the near future) so when that happens I will keep it up to date.
