I don't have any pictures, but you know the schools of fish (you can't pick them up or scan them, they kinda just swim around) well, one of these schools glitched into my cyclops and can't escape (I've tried reloading the game) it blocks a section of my cyclops as well, plz fix!

Why I chose to use console commands to build everything after I found the Sea Emperor leviathan. (
Ultimately I felt that there was no point to the enptune rocket aside from tying up the story, I didn't search the depths for the individual pieces or anything else, nore did I know the entirety of what was needed for the rocket, So I decided to say to heck with it and farmed out the resources for the pad, Done, then I found out I needed crystalline sulfur and nickel ore etc. and Kyanite. All that this really did was attempt to pull more required time out of the game, I didn't sea (see what I did there?) to go back and fourth to my Lost river base jut to create 1 piece at a time because I ultimately didn't know the required over all materials for the blueprints. Perhaps if this were to be shifted in different direction I might have continued without the console but as it stands... It only served to crease playtime as I just had to go find the mats, seeing as I all ready knew where they were it was pointless, nothing rare or crazy really.

[MOD][PC] Murky Waters v2 - With DLL patcher! [WIP
[Normal > Dark > Darker > Darkest]
![r1.jpg]()
![r2.jpg]()
![r3.jpg]()
![r4.jpg]()
I re-made the Murky Waters mod I did a while back to include a patcher, so you don't need to hex edit anything yourself anymore!
I know people are wary of random .exe's floating around on the internet (and quite rightly so!) so I included the source code, in case you want to check it and build it yourself![:) :)]()
Ever felt Subnautica is just a little too... bright? The fear, for me at least, comes from Leviathans appearing out of nowhere, not seeing them in the distance and avoiding them.
If you agree, this is the mod for you!![:) :)]()
3 settings to choose from:
Dark: Similar to normal settings, only a slight reduction in visibility.
Darker: Probably the setting I'd recommend. A modest reduction.
Darkest: Very poor visibility. You will not be able to see very far in front of you at all. Bring a torch.
![normal.jpg]()
![dark.jpg]()
![darker.jpg]()
![darkest.jpg]()
![patcher.png]()
SETUP:
1) Drop the SUPER basic and not at all rushed 'SubnauticaPatcher.exe' in your game folder (where the game exe is)
- If you don't know where that is > Open Steam, right click Subnautica, select Properties. Click on the 'Local Files' tab and click 'Browse Local Files'.
2) Run patcher exe, and click 'Backup'. If this fails, make sure the patcher exe is in the right place.
3) If it succeeds, select your preferred 'Murkiness' level and Click 'Patch File'.
Note: Using the patcher to run the Game will fail if Subnautica is set to 'Run as Admin'. Doing it this way will also disable the Steam Overlay.
4) Either click the 'Run Game' Button or launch the game normally.
5) Enjoy!
Returning to normal settings:
Provided you followed the SETUP and made a backup, you can open the patcher and click 'Restore'.
If you don't have the backup, delete the file 'Subnautica\Subnautica_Data\Managed\Assembly-CSharp.dll', open Steam, right click Subnautica, Properties, Local Files, Verify Integrity. This will check for any missing files and download them.

Storm Mode
Storm Mode would be a new mode in which Planet 4546B's surface would be bombarded by hurricane-force winds and torrential rains.
Constantly.
Being on the surface would deal one point of damage per second to the player. The top 20 feet of water would appear churned up, and bits of coral and acid mushrooms would occasionally smash into the player dealing about 5 damage.
The underwater area directly around the lifepod would be slightly less affected by underwater debris for the sake of not murdering players the instant they enter and exit the pod.
Also, solar panels would be 50% less effective. Oh boy.
After two weeks of gameplay, the storm would become more severe, with the player being dealt 2 damage per second on the surface and with debris being slightly more common and appearing 50 feet underwater.
After four weeks of gameplay, the storm would become even worse, with the player being dealt 4 damage per second on the surface and with debris being very common and appearing 100 feet underwater, with bits of scrap metal that deal 10 damage.
To reduce storm damage for exploring the islands, you could craft the various dive suits. The rad and still suits would reduce storm damage by 25%, and the reinforced dive suit would reduce it by 60%. Might still be a good idea to pack some first aid kits.
Seabases and subs will also be damaged by storm debris.
Fundamentally, I'm not so sure this is a good idea, but I think it could be cool. Anyways, thanks for reading.

Bases can be damaged or attacked by leviathan on ocasion
After building so many bases around leviathans, you get the feeling they are pretty dumb and actually not scary at all.
I believe leviathans should do some damage to bases, not something game breaking, just to add a little fun to having a base close to one:
Like mentioned, nothing game breaking, at most a flooding you can quickly fix. At least it would feel more like "oh hell yeah, I made a base in a dangerous zone".
I believe leviathans should do some damage to bases, not something game breaking, just to add a little fun to having a base close to one:
- Sometimes when they swim too close (alas, they clip inside your base ... usual bug) they deal minor damage (small leak)
- If they see the player entering the base, they purposefully attack the base once or twice (medium leaks, maybe a fire)
- If you stand on the observation room for too long while they are in range, they purposefully attack it (medium leaks)

Moon pool damage unrepairable [47282]...[59783]
Already reported this ages ago in steam forums, but seems it didn't do anything there, so trying here (now that I can finally start new threads/discussion). (Link to steam thread: http://steamcommunity.com/app/264710/discussions/3/1319962683448609784/)
---- At 47282 ---
In short: I can not repair (probable) damage on moon pool.
Longer version:
Base got dimmed, figured out eventually that I had couple leaks in multipurpose rooms, fixed those... but base is still dimmed.
I found a hissing sound in a corner of the moon pool, but no visual changes inside or outside, and blindly trying to use repair tool all over that area (even while being inside visuals on the outside) does nothing. Removing the moon pool brings the lights back up, and creating it again in different location results in all good state (proves that the issue is damage in moon pool). Creating the moonpool again in the original position results in the same hissing sound in the same corner and dimmed base lights.
I.e. can not fix the moon pool in its intended location.
One would also think that full deconstructing and reconstructing would count as repair, too, instead of keeping the broken status in some hidden saved data.
For reproduction, I have no clue how that damage even came to be there (or anywhere else in the base for that matter), but I suspect randomly spawned gasopoddies getting nuts. I guess one can try shooting things at it, or build it near big animals...
---- After 50032: ---
after moving (i.e. dismantle+rebuild) the moonpool down one step, it was immediately showing couple spots to repair. After repairing one of them, leakage sounds vanished, got message about integrity restored and starting to drain the base, and lights got bright again. However, the water levels inside base remained bad anyway (another bug, i think).
Once moving the moonpool back up to the original problem spot, the corner was still making the sound, base is dimmed, etc. Moving it one step up (above the sea level) is ok, nothing to fix that way.
One horizontal move was also ok, can not test other 3 directions due to the rest of the base being in the way (and way too much work to dismantle them first).
While moving the moonpool around, I also noticed that it happily removed windows from other modules in order to make connection to them (bad, as getting material for windows seems to be quite a chore now, I'd rather have it leave the moonpool unconnected if there is no empty wall to play with).
---- At 59783: ---
Still in effect, seems to still be so that when relocated one step below, no problems, when built in the original spot, one corner has damage and can not be repaired (or seen, only heard and base without power).
If someone gets interested, I do have a savegame on it, but how to upload/attach... (I can't see a button for such)?

New mod: Disable health bars, but color damage numbers based on health
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1296261690
A very simple mod. This disables enemy health bars, but colors your damage numbers (which are forced to be enabled now) based on the target's health fraction. Green is 100% HP, red is 0%, and the color smoothly transitions between them.
Why? Health bars (and name popups) make it difficult to hide or dodge. Health bars also make it super easy to track a target in a pack. But at the same time, it makes sense to communicate how damaged a target is in a game where a unit's health can be affected by so many factors. It's also important to see how much damage you're doing.

Fade used to have the most fun skill based movement back before they removed half of it for no reason, please bring it back.
¨
For those who dont know vertical velocity (falling) would get converted into forward speed by using blink, great fast paced sensation now gone for unknown reasons.

Crashing launching or playing Subnautica? Follow these steps to make a good crash support post!
Hey guys!
Subnautica is currently in Early Access and as such you may from time to time encounter bugs and in the worst case, crashes. If you have issues with stability of Subnautica, please post your issues with as much detail as possible (video/screenshots/descriptions), followed by the following requested information:
Example Topic Title:
[Crash] Open my Locker and Crash! [Version Number]
1) Please run dxdiag.exe (search windows for it) on your systems and hit the button 'save all information' in the bottom right. Save this file for later.
![LHmLsSd.png]()
2) Navigate to your Subnautica Folder in Steam (should be steamapps\common\Subnautica)
3) Open the Subnautica_Data folder and grab a copy of 'output_log.txt'
![PJAwuF0.png]()
4) Upload all the text of these to something like http://pastebin.com/ and post the public links to them with your forum posts.
These 2 files will GREATLY help us in tracking down issues with Subnautica. Thanks!

Forcefields to air caves don't stop creatures nor - this is hilarious - cameras
All those underwater alien forcefields that you can move into that are air ... creatures can follow you inside and swim like they are on water, and you can also move in with cameras and swim around, which is pretty hilarious.
Yes I tried using the teleporter with a camera lol, doesn't work, shame, would be the best bug ever.

If any one has information on how to obtain them or can confirm my issues, please leave a note![:) :)]()

Some keyboards still not working with Vive
I'm using a Vive with no other controllers (I power down the Vive controllers after I start Subnautica from within SteamVR). When I try to launch, I am warned that I have no compatible controllers, even though I have a keyboard and a mouse. I launch anyway. I can see the ocean (beautiful!) and a menu with three entries.
Subnautica comes up fine (and the visuals are stunning) but I cannot get the mouse or keyboard to work at all. When I press F2, a page loads in my web browser rather than resetting viewpoint. I can get some buttons to highlight by moving my head, but at that point clicking the mouse button does nothing, nor do keys like Enter or Space. Right now, the game does not work at all.
Seems like some people are having huge success and can't understand what the problem is, while others can't get the keyboard/mouse to work at all.
Puzzling.
When I use a USB keyboard, I can play both in VR and in non-VR. When I use a Logitech wireless keyboard (my default), I cannot play at all. So, Subnautica ignores some keyboards that the OS can see correctly. No wonder everyone is confused about this.
Can anyone make a constructive suggestion other than "buy a game controller"? This was supposed to be fixed almost a year ago.

Saved the Sunbeam
I decided to fix the radio after getting cured and I get a completely different message from the Sunbeam. I only get one radio message from them.
Not sure what happens when you activate the Sunbeam timer, then get cured and disable the gun before the Sunbeam arrives. It is possible that the Sunbeam lands, but does nothing after that.
Aurora survivors, this is trading ship Sunbeam. We've tracked your distress signal, but your ship's left a substantial debris field up in orbit, we can't attempt a landing.
We're gonna have to head home.
We'll send our data to Alterra as soon as we can. Hold on in there. Sunbeam, out.
