Flood lights are really annoying to keep recharging they should either charge when put on a base or have a power transmitter give them power.

Crash when going/coming from mountain island (maybe changing biome?)
Hi,
I've been playing subnautica for some time. Now i'm going to the mountain island but, in the middle of the way, the game crashes over and over again when i try to move. It is imposible to move even some metters. I guess that is something over there, because I played the game for a month and i reach the other island and move fast over the map without problem, I even come in the Aurora.
I tried with all the game in low textures etc, launching it with -force-d3d9 but anything works. I also verified cache.
Find attached the log of my report: http://pastebin.com/atFy25TA
Please, could anybody help me or should I forget the game, because I really don't know what else can I do.
Thanks

Bug: Creatures Spawning in My Base and Getting Stuck in the Bioreactor Inventory
So I was collecting Crabsnake eggs for the second time (a crash undid my first run) and when I return to base, a Gasopod is stuck inside one of my rooms. It spawned inside as it sometimes does, but generally it happens when I load in, so I just exit and reload. This time, it happened after I'd spent a while out of my base. My plan was to leave and hope it would be gone when I came back, but I never got to test it. I had a Reginald in my inventory I went to place in my bioreactor and when I selected the bioreactor, the data pad came up, but it was totally blank. No inventory screen to speak of. It wouldn't let me exit either. It would allow me to jump and the world existed as usual around me, but I had to restart.
↧
A Few Bugs
There are a few places where 'rendering priority', If I can even call it that, is not what it is supposed to be. For instance, when the player is looking at the bioreactor, the green slimy texture renders over the players inventory. If you are holding a seaglide, and open your inventory, sometimes the seaglide moves over to the side and covers part of your inventory. I will edit this and turn it into a list as I find stuff.

Transfer "signals" to beacon list
Now that there is a beacon list (in experimental mode) which allows you to switch on and off beacon signals, why not add the lifepod and alien "signals" to this list instead of dropping into the iinventory as an entity item? That allows you to switch them on and off without having to equip them in the chip/hud upgrade slots.

Cyclops Docking Station
I was always thinking about a way for the Cyclops to dock directly to the base. Mainly for convenience. Perhaps a docking tub or maybe a new module on the sides of the Cyclops just before you walk into the control room, in that little empty area between the Sea Moth/Prawn suit docking unit and the control room. What do you guys think?

I think PRAWN is false (naming)
Hello Devs,
While trying to find a translation for the PRAWN suit in German, still banging my head against the wall, I think that PRAWN itself is not the right name that you gave him!
Pressure Re-Active Waterproof Nano = PRAWN
The name sounds like the constructor (Alterra) had developed it especially for underwater missions on the subnautica planet!
(Did they knew they will crash there o_o)
Or to be correct: named for subnautica like planets!
Because Alterra is mostly building phasegates in outer space and also have many mining colonies, I would name it different!
Maybe something like:
Human power amplifying robot unit
Human strength enhancing robot unit
Just examples! Google translator is the biggest sh... since ever
The suit is enhancing the strength of a human, is anatomically shaped like a human (kinda like a mech, avatar) because it does what the human inside is doing and that with ease, and with the different modules it is perfect for building really heavy pieces together to get a phasegate (propulsion) or mining for ore thru the whole planet (drill arm)!
Just the torpedo arm makes IMO absolutely no sense (but it seems that this (only this) has something to do with oceanic planets)
Sorry but still doesn't make any sense to me and is a weapon (doesn't matter if it is vortex or gas), it is a weapon (but that is maybe another thread)
So is, Pressure Re-Active Waterproof Nano = PRAWN, really good?

The ENDING of Subnautica
I think, when the Sunbeam lands (after you disable the Array) Avery Quinn walk out to meet you, and he looks around for a bit, but then he gets the Carar. And a warper detects it, Enables the Array, and when you (the player) looks out a window, you see the gun fire up and shoot, then everything goes black, to the credits (you don't have to add me to the credits).

Another Poll: Do you agree with the developers' descision to remove the Deep Grand Reef entrance?
So right now there are three entrances to the Lost River, one in the Deep Grand Reef, one in the Blood Kelp Trench, and one in the Northern Blood Kelp Zone. But recently the devs have said they are planning to remove the Deep Grand Reef entrance and turn the Ghost Canyon into a dead end with a skeleton and some other things in it.
Here's what the developer Cory Strader said about this "The LR has 3 entrances. That is too many. And most people I've seen find it going through ghost trees" "the more entrances and exits the more likely players will explore only half of it before running into an exit and leaving" Do you agree with their decision to remove the Grand Reef's Lost River entrace?

Why don't items dissapear after they are dropped?
Sometimes we drop things that we dont need like rotten fish, or ores we have too many of. These stay there the entire game and are not only unsightly but probably don't help with performance issues. Why don't they eventually dissapear?

"Flagship Eclipse" : Subnautica Story
INFORMATION:
SAMPSON LARK
Where we flew was dangerous. Our small ship had scraped across the stars for two whole months to arrive here, and it was all too likely that we would be shot down before we made planetfall. 4546B had not been visited in thirty years. A mining vessel named Aurora was to build a phase gate in the system, using this planet as a checkpoint for incoming resources. She was shot down in high atmosphere of the planet. There was only one survivor of that wreck, and don't go asking me how he made it back home.
Alterra has given this ship, Eclipse, something to counteract the laser beam that shot down the last three ships to enter orbit. We have been given a Plasma Shield to protect against the blast. We didn't travel two months just to get blown to smithereens in high orbit. Even if we did I'd survive, just like he did back then.
Eclipse was a bulldog-class trading vessel, given the task to make permanent settlement on the planet until larger ships could arrive. I was sat at the controls of the beautiful craft. I was in command. If Penna wanted to turn the ship even an inch Galactic-West, she would have to consult me first, or if Zenn wanted to make the jump to warp-speed I would be the one who made the final call, or if Malla wanted to activate the Plasma Shield he would have to ask me about it.
Finally in the distance we saw the white glowing light of a nearby star. At the first sight of it cheers erupted in the bridge of the ship where I, Zenn, Malla and Penna controlled the ship. Tary performed maintenance, which wasn't so glamorous, and Otta was just an engineer. Malla was the first to see the approaching sun. He pointed it out to us all, and in response came a flood of laughter and delight. Zenn rushed downstairs to tell Tary and Otta where we were. I don't know why she would just abandon this view like she did, and for the silliest of reasons, but all that mattered was that she was there when 4546B came into view, as were Tary and Otta. We stood at the front window of the ship for minutes, and we could have stayed for hours. Reluctantly I ordered everyone back to their stations and, not so reluctantly, Tary and Otta back downstairs.
"Zenn, slow the ship down; we'll be in orbit in five minutes, I don't want to go crashing into that water there." In front of my seat were panels crammed with buttons, switches and levers. I flicked and pressed many, as everyone did.
"Ship slowing, Captain." Zenn informed as he slowly raised a dark, glistening lever. A hum that had droned for hours around them suddenly began to quieten, and drop in pitch. The blue planet grew enormous out the front of the ship. Clouds swirled over the ocean, small islands were dotted over its surface. It was so intricate I swear I could identify individual waves that rippled across the planet. Suddenly on my monitor a red warning began flashing. It kept flashing, straining my eyes, telling me that an unidentified energy pulse was heading directly towards us.
"Malla! Shield, now!" I turned in my seat to point to her, and the window was covered in a sheet of rippling blue. With a thunderous roar it turned vibrant yellow, with the mix of green and blue. Sparks began flying about the room. Was the shield working at all? The warning still flickered and there was no way to know for sure. Then the bridge turned dark, and the hum fell silent. The beam had ceased, as had our shield, and we fell faster than a diving falcon towards the planet's deep blue oceans.
"What happened?!" Malla roared. "I thought you said that thing would hold!" I did, didn't I? I wasn't certain, but I was sure Alterra would not forsake us.
"The beam must have bypassed the shield somehow, it shut off all of our power." I checked a damage feed of Eclipse. "We have no power, but the ship is not damaged. Now quickly; brace for impact!" I held onto the arms of my seat, as did everyone else. The thought of Tary and Otta rattling around below eased my mind, for all I knew these were the last seconds of my life. The ship hit the water, and it fell no longer.
1: I know, I know, @Bugzapper already did and is doing Subnautica stories of his own, and yes I did get the idea to share mine here from him doing it, but I'm not copying the idea, I'm just using it to create my own completely separate story. Also Bugzapper might know that I already tried doing one of these but I was getting bored writing it myself, so I stopped really early on. I'm doing it again, though, and better this time!
2: This is going to be written from the points of view of different characters, like ASOIAF but first person. I'll start every post with the perspective that post will be from so there's no confusion![:) :)]()
3: I go on about it a lot, but I write a lot for a hobby. I'm writing a fantasy right now, but nobody's going to see that in an age. So I thought I'd post a different story here for you all to see. What I'm trying to say is the point of this thread is to share my writing and get feedback so that I can improve. So go nuts![;) ;)]()

Base slowly breaking (I know about hull integrity)
Hi:
I've had a great time playing this game, but after adding a moonpool to my main base in safe shallows the whole thing is slowly breaking apart. Hull integrity says it's well over 20, and I even added a reinforcement to the moonpool itself; no dice.
Part of the base does cut into the rock (the new feature where base parts clear away terrain to fit in, which I quite like), but that's the only thing I can can think of that could be causing slow damage over time, if that's even a thing?
Would pictures help?
Is there any way to use the console to monitor base health?
Thanks

Map & Mapping
Can a dev answer on this post regarding a future implementation please?
The Seamoth has a scanner upgrade module which when activated scans the environment using sonar I presume. Can/Would you be considering this feature to create a map of the terrain for the player to use?
How I think the implementation can be done:
The scanner room is a nice addition to your base, but the con to this is that it is stationary and the range is not that awesome for large surface scanning. It also does not have a saved scan for you to view. It would be a great feature to use the Seamoth module to scan areas and then download the data to the scanner room to compile a map. It does not have to be detailed like viewing the world from the players perspective. It can remain in the grid 3D format.
Bear in mind that I do not have any knowledge of coding and my suggestion is purely from a perspective of what is already in the game and how it could be enhanced. You are most welcome to school me in the difficulty scale of such an implementation.
Thanks

error SNUnmanagedata/build 18
just downloaded the game. but for some reason there seems to be something wrong in the build 18 folder. ive been looking everywhere for options to fix it, because i really want to play the game.
it keeps loading with a second counter, until it starts loading world tiles and displays the error. (the second counter keeps going so it does not freeze)
i've tried reinstalling and verifing the files multiple times, since i know the error is being caused by faulty files. however it still doesnt work after trying this over ten times![:/ :/]()
after trying all these things i'd really like to know if someone found an actual solution to this...
ver. 42313 dec-2016
my pc is far above the recommended specs so that shouldn't be any problem.
(update) it seems there are a couple of files in the build 18 folder with name conflicts, even if i delete them or use these to replace the originals it does not work.
