Crashfish powder?

$

The old method of collecting crashfish powder doesn't seem to work for me any more. After avoiding the kamikaze fish, all I find in the plant is an egg. Is there another way to get the powder now? I have around 5 or 6 eggs now, although they are useless to me at this point in the game unless there's a way to make crashfish powder from them.

Hey everyone! Due to a recent run in we had with Activision copy-righting our content we've started going to all the developers of the different games we play. So I'm here to ask Unknown Worlds to use their game footage in our videos and livestreams. You may PM me here or E-Mail me. If I do not receive confirmation within one month I will assume consent is given. This assumed consent may be revoked at any time through any means you deem necessary. Have a good day!

Constant crashes after returning from Mountain Island

$

I've been playing Subnautica for a fewe days now with minimal crashes and bugs, until now.

The problem starts after visiting the Mountain Island. When I depart the island in my Seamoth (heading back to my base in the shallows by mylifepod) I always end up crashing at some point along the trip. I'll reboot, reload my save I made while I was on the island and try again. I sometimes crash sooner or maybe make it a bit further, but it inevitably hangs for a moment, starts moving again for a split second, then crashes. This is my second save that has been ruined by this issue after putting hours of work into it. I've tried swimming back instead of driving the Seamoth, going slower, driving closer to the ground to let all the assets load in, taking a roundabout way, etc. To no avail.

This bug is very frustrating, as I lose all the progress I've spent hours amassing.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm having a lot of fun playing this game, but I don't want to keep starting over after coming so far.

I'm also adding a file link that contains my two glitched save files.
On the first, Slot0000, I'm inside my base (after somehow forcing my way through the crashes on my way back from Mountain Island) but now everytime I go outside: game crashes.
The second, Slot0001, I'm on the Mountain Island, and I crash on my way back to base.
It also has copies of my DxDiag, and logs.

Sunbeam(SPOILERS)

Hello everyone.
As much of you know, sunbeam is ship who try to rescue us,but this dont end good.So i would be happy if we get sunbeam explorable wreck.
Sunbaem was much smaler then aurora.Because he was to small i suposse was totaly smashed. So from sunbeam dont will be some big parts.
I think can be parts of sunbeam around one of the map corner,or near montain island. And this wreck dont be on one pieace, much pieces(like aurora underwater wrecks).I would like find a bridge of ship and see last sunbeam moments.

Als whots can be awesome:When you character arrive to G.U.N and gun starting turning, you character see it,and start cream ,,No!NOOO!,, and after gun fire and shot down sunbeam he can fall down on knee and make almost animal scream and start crying.

Also can be make he saw one lifepod fall to see,you will swim faster how you can but when you arived you see lifpod sinking, you get into lifepod and see one man from Sunbeam,he just lookd to yours eays, give you photo of his family, and die in your hands.

Ideas to help new players

I understand that a survival game should be hard. The main thing I like about Subnautica is that people need to explore to succeed. However I think the beginning of the game could be more... streamlined. By that I mean the beginning of the game should be stupid proof. Instead of showing them limestone deposits tell them that limestone deposits are where you acquire almost all your resources. Also make the basic tech you need for the early game very apparent. I was almost at the end game before I finally found the seaglide. It was buried in the sand so I couldn't find it. I think maybe the beginning of the game should be more streamlined. That's not to say I don't like the game. I love the game! I've barely ran into any bugs either which is rare for an early access game! Also, maybe the beginning tutorial should teach you to catch fish and that Bladderfish give water. These are just a few ideas. Just giving my opinion!

This is the closest thing to what my question is... Anyways I was wondering if there was a way to get a xbox one subnautica code because my computer can't handle it... and i really don't want to turn anything down so it can handle it (Anyways it doesn't work still). Yaa...

Also this is what I think of the game so far... I haven't gotten far because the game always crashes after a while :/ minus the space and add the sea

Just Wondering That Now That The Sunbeam Is In The Game It Is Very Small. Pretty Much A 4x The Size Of The Seamoth While The Aurora Is Like 10x The Size Of The Cyclops. So Could You Make it Bigger?

Rookie status & servers

Is there a way I can actually get my rookie status back?

I love the game, but quite frankly I feel pretty disheartened whenever I play on a regular server and just get demolished by someone (or a group of people) who are pretty much professional NS2 players. I can't bash them; because they're good players, but I can bash the system for deeming me too 'experienced' to not be able to play on rookie servers.

Even though I have a grasp of NS2 mechanics, I would still consider myself a rookie simply for the fact that the gameplay involved in NS2 games is just so radically different from anything I've played. These people going through games with insane KDr's have been playing NS2 since its inception and I don't really see how I can learn and improve my gameplay let alone compete when they just rinse you down before you even have time to realise what it is you've done wrong.

I don't really feel like I'm learning anything (least of all enjoying anything) when I get gunned/bitten down in half a second, furthermore it's also frustrating considering the fact you often have to wait on the server browser for up to 15 minutes just to find a populated server.

On rookie servers, I felt more evenly matched, and I felt that I was actually learning useful engagement techniques because I stood at least half a chance against the players I was fighting against, but on regular servers the game can be decided very frequently by whatever team a specific player (or players) decide to join. This doesn't give any incentive to new and inexperienced players to actually engage with the community and gameplay.

XBOX UNOFFICIAL BUG POST
Started this Post originally to get the ball rolling didn't realise how many would respond, so if you have bugs that are not on the list just mention it within the comment section below, depending on free time and playing subnautica it may take me awhile to respond or even update the list, thanks from a fellow subnautica fan for the help guys. Hopefully the major bugs will get fixed and help get the game running smoother in the foreseeable future

BUGS

- any building block's I place that goes through or slightly into the reef/ rocks & plant life will be Terra formed as expected but if you load or come back to the Area after a journey it will go back to its original form and glitch through the building block deny access through walkways etc.

- when a breach floods your base fish will swim through or spawn in the base, even found fish swimming/ floating even without a breach. while in the Cyclops/ big sub if you hold a snap block/ base building item's while in the sub it did a 360 spinning around demolishing anything in sight.

- found wreckage parts, doors, flood lights and reef parts floating in the sky.

- frame rate issues

- game crashes often even more so while playing in creative (to as expected)

- picking up alien fish even while directly next to it does not work sometimes (hit box to small?)

BUG LIST UPDATED [18/05/16]

- Giant Iceberg salt, randomly spawning - [xNeil_Armstrong]

- a glitch that rarely occurs, but sometimes icons, HUD and menu is invisible even when you pause in game (requires you to reboot the game and load a previous save) - [Herjolfr]

- rendering issues, mainly within the submarines (land not generating fast enough leaving blank spaces into the void) - [Herjolfr]

- Got stuck to sea bed after scanning a fragment - [Gidgemeister]

- Mobile Vehicle bay menu selection screen not appearing (played on external Hardrive)- [Gidgemeister]

- slowly being moved to the left while using the crafting station via life pod towards the storage container (sea wave glitche?)- [Gargett]

BUG LIST UPDATED [19/05/16]

- Crashed while in the seamoth to where it looked like I was on the edge of space treading water. No amount of restarting fixed it. When I finally died a hour later due to dehydration, I spawned back where the life pod was with my vehicle bay and lifepod gone. I didn't see the seamoth beacon either. Restarted the game -

- Third game crashed while I was next to the aurora and out scanning fragments. When the game reloaded I was back at the pod. The base i built and my vehicle bay were gone and again I didn't see my seamoth beacon -

- Missing items in fabricator only appear when you have the requirements - Meekeo_Fibre

- Crash powder not appearing - xNeil_Armstrong

- Deployable Storage Disappearing - Malacath

- Made it to 6000m+ because of no terrain generation - rustled_Jimmy

BUG LIST UPDATED [20/05/16]

- Life Pod cannot be repaired SneezyPanda

- I deleted my survival and started a new one to try and get crash powder to spawn, and it worked! I made a welder and fixed the pod. I put the welder in the pod storage. Went out to start a base, and when I came back the pod was gone. The pod beacon said it was way off in the distance, I traveled for 5 min and got nowhere - xNeil_Armstrong

- I also had a glitch happen last night that I got stuck in my Seamoth and couldn't get out and every time I tried to press the A button to get out it would say " SpawnFailed ". It fixed after I restarted the game twice - MayaMidnight

- ealier today when i loaded up subnautica my survival world broke. The world outside my escape pod doesn't load up anything its just a huge blank open ocean no land no fish nothing. Im not sure what caused it as i saved and exited to main menu before i got off last time - Fearingsix

BUG LIST UPDATED [21/05/16]

- Obtained the Power Efficiency upgrade module inside the Aurora, came back after reloading the game and found it again - EVILONE15

BUG LIST UPDATED [22/05/16]

- ive just had one when exploring the mushroom forest right outside the aurora while looking for cyclopse fragments on survival. no idea how it happened but i got launched flying into the sky while in my seamoth, then the screen went all blurry and after that i was sent about 500m in the sea way too far out the map id say about over 300,000m away from my pod - DroopyGlint

- water clipping through building blocks at surface level - IzaacJ

- character can easily get stuck on the banisters by any connecting corridor in the multifunction room, requiring you to save and quite to fix the issue - EVILONE15

BUG LIST UPDATED [23/05/16]

- Seamoth randomly moves to a deeper location upon loading - Lord_Max

- Waterproof lockers vanishing upon loading game - DraftySea

BUG LIST UPDATED [09/06/16]

- Hi I am new to the game on Xbox. I wanted to report that the game also crashes while being in the main menu just sitting in idle. I wanted to pause the game in the main menu and come back later. I tried if it was accidental but the game crashes every time while idle in main menu. It does it within an hour and quite some turns now. - oelikoelie

- I found that fragments in my game despawn mid-scanning period when I'm bitten by a Biter. Really annoying, 'cause I really need a mobile vehicle bay. - Darwin-Evolution

- it only happened once but I tried to get into my base via moonpool but when I went into it, I fell through the base and landed on the ground (underwater) like I was on land. Only for me to realize that my oxygen was not going down and I was walking underwater (like my base) and I had to climb up to my hatch to "leave my base" - trainman16

- sometimes if I look down while I am in my base it slows my walking speed to nearly 5% - Melinity

- As soon as I finished building a multi-purpose room the game crashed and I lost all of my data, the game denies that I have created any saved games - Rawrr

- I just sealed up the radiation leak and decided to head home. Upon entering my base you could constantly hear the sound of your character obtaining air from the purple brains that release 3 bubbles of air every now and then. - destinykid

- Glitch threw sea-moth while docking into moon pool causing you to sink until you hit bottom. - JONNYK301

- Your base will become transparent while in the Cyclops. - Olympicwolf

- closing bulkheads crashes the game - bbot0625

anything else that comes to me I will update this post, also anyone can contribute to the list, I know its a preview and all just here to help, also to note I will have no idea if and when these bugs are fixed (guessing after a bug update in the near future) so when that happens I will keep it up to date.

Idea for encouraging tech progression without wiki reliance

$
0
0
Just posted this on steam before realizing that the devs may not read it there.

I see complaints about the need to reference the wiki for information on tech being sought. Yet, at the same time, I think we can all admit that if you chanced upon obscure tech in a hard to find spot, the emotional gratification is much better than if it is simply strewn about everywhere on the ocean floor (as the developers may be tempted to do to satisfy us experienced players who simply want to quickly acquire what we already know exists).

I propose a method for sensing unknown technology that would guide players. Perhaps it could be an instrument that is built and deployed by the player somewhere in the world, then once back at the scanner room of the base (provided that scanner room tech isnt tooooo hard to find ) the player could sync with the deployed electronic scanner (or some fancy name for a thing that would detect foreign substances / altera hardware, etc) and would be provided with a rough guidance to the nearest unknown tech.

I like this approach because it still requires work and resources and the player is only given guidance to 1 additional tech per scanner, but it guarantees that a completionist can be sure they have acquired everything without ever needing to lose immersion by checking online.

Also, provided I have some way to locate it, I prefer to have to go far away on a exploration to find something worthwhile. We only need these scattered in many spots if it is basic tech or there is no easy way to find it. If tech is everywhere, it takes a way a huge compelling reason to discover all the great locations that have been created

Any thoughts?

Btw- This game may be after my heart for my favorite of all time.
