Natural selection two crashes randomly and forces me to hard restart my computer.
The game freezes for 1 or 2 seconds, and then the entire screen turns black. Ctrl+alt+delete or any other keyboard shortcut does nothing.
My computer is completely unresponsive. The only way I can get back to windows is via a hard restart.
I have found no pattern to the crashes. It can happen on the menu, loading screen, and randomly in game play.
I have tried reinstalling all my drivers, as well as the game itself to no avail.
I read that disabling catalyst AI would solve the problem, the only change was that when the crash occurred my fans begun spinning much faster.
have also tried putting cpu and gpu back to stock clocks, no help.
I have also changed the settings to every possible configuration, lowering the the resolution and settings makes it less likely to crash, but does not fix the problem.
i set up a second monitor and watched my thermals during game-play at max settings..... normal.
GPU usage about 70% @ 53 C
CPU usage 50% 40 C
if i reduce the resolution to 720p and have all the settings on the lowest, the game doesnt crash very often, but ths is very annoying.
I can play Crysis and Far Cry 3 just fine on max settings, and I have never observed this crash in any other application.
System:
CPU: AMD Phenom 2 @3.7gh
GPU: AMD Radeon 6850 @ 870Hz GPU clock, 1200 memory clock.
MOBO: Asus M4A88V-EVO/USB3
