shotgun stock slam

I did a search but couldn't find it so here a post.
Why is it possible to slam with the rifle stock and not with the shotgun?
The shotgun is a close combat weapon.

First i thought the shotgun has no stock but it does have one (and else it deserved one).
I would really like to see it in ns2.
